    @neph93:

    Has it? On here? That seems like a non-starter to me and at odds with the reality of owning and using a pair of proper boots.

    On an entirely subjective level I preferred the richer, darker colour of the OG brown domain and while the British Tan looked more or less appealing depending on the lighting of the pics, this colour and texture evolution is just plain sexy.

    Nope not here and not in the context of Wescos. BT is CXL, with its pluses and minuses, and I agree that Alex's pair shows that CXL (at least in BT) can look good when put through its paces.

      I have one pair of boots with CXL and I always assumed that kicking the shit out of it was a good idea as it’s going to get messy if you look at it wrong anyway. Go figure.

        I bet you rip your band-aids off lightning fast as well, instead of going through the slow-pull ritual of agony. ::)

                Beautiful boots. I'm thinking about replacing a pair of worn out Red Wing Iron Rangers.  Wonder how these would compare to Red Wings and John Lofgren boots. Also clueless on how to size these boots. I'm a size 10 D in Red Wing Heritage boots, 10 D in Lofgren Engineers boots and 9.5 in Lofgren Combat boots. Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated.

                  I suspect 10D in these too.

                          Is there a link to any care and maintenance info?

                                  I'm a little confused - are the domain cap toe boots in the MP95 last or 1339? I have a pair of the black rough out foot patrol in 10E, and bought the same size in these but on trying them on they feel roomier. Are people going up a width for these or staying with their true width?

                                    @Piratedoc This is strange that your FP6's feel roomier than your domain toe caps (ALEXs) as they are both built on the same MP95 last. The only reason why I can think they feel different is that they are different leathers. Do you usually wear an E width? If not then you could be more suited to a D or simple just between widths.

                                      I have the same feeling, I have a pair of FP's and this pair, the domain pair feels wider.
                                      Must be the leather and the construction: FP's have lining and don't have a heel cup.

                                        Whether or not they have a lining makes no difference to the fit.  The shoe is still built around a last….

                                          Yes, you are absolutely correct. But I'm guessing the lining has an influence on the feeling since the 'thickness' of the vamp is doubled allowing for less give and 'stretch' which might attribute to the roomier feeling.

                                          I've also read that different leathers can be lasted different: some can be lasted tighter and some can't be pulled as hard over the last. I don't know if this is true or might have influence on the fit.

                                          Anyway, it's strange because looking top down at both boots next to each other the profile is near identical. Funny how those things work sometimes. Either way, both are great boots and very comfortable. A different pair of socks can sometimes be enough to fine tune the fit to perfection.
