Judging by the pictures of the samples and the info in this thread then I’d say not. There was something that was getting tonal arcs but everything else contrast though, like the 555-01. There are do many interesting new denim iterations coming to IH land at the minute that I can’t keep track of the permutations.

Has there been any more news on the actual release date for the IH-555-XHSib or have any measurements been uploaded anywhere??  I just picked up a new pair of 555-01 21oz and they're hands down my favorite denim, I'm wondering if measurements will be similar..?

Measurements won’t be up until around the day of release, maybe the day before. IHUK measurements are based on the actual stock they recieve so can’t be done until they arrive at HQ.

Regarding release date, you’ll usually see a heads up on the forum when they ship from Japan.

Kind of a weird question, but what’s the thought behind this fabric? I like the way the 3sixteen’s someone referenced here seem to fade with the sulphur black but I’m not sure I really know how the reactive dye will change that. I’m guessing someone had an idea when they came up with the fabric, or at least can take a better guess than me at how they might fade.

I'm picturing a jean that looks dark blue, but in areas of wear, black. Picture black creases, combs, etc on a dark blue jean…

Maybe it'll be cool, maybe not. We'll see!

The warp is rope dyed indigo, so in areas of wear, it'll fade to pale blue/ white (as the indigo is worn away and the white core of the warp is exposed)). I'm imagining high contrast fades because the weft will stay black (rather than the normal white) as the warp loses its indigo.  Time will tell…
