Dang, these measurements don't make it easy. I'm right in between 36 and 38…
I guess I'll have to order both from @Iron Heart Germany and see which fits better, although I hate to do this 😞

@tody Which dimension is the most essential to you?

@goosehd Waist, i'd say. If you compare the chart, both are within .2" in the other dimensions.
@Alex mentioned that the top block is similar to the new chinos, and I had to go from 36 to 38 in the IH-731 due to the waist measurement. But this one here is even wider in the 38, and the 36 may be still a tad too tight. And I'm pretty sure Ripstop is one of these no-stretch-at-all fabrics…

Really a tough call…I stated once that sizing can go up and down throughout the day for me depending on what I’ve eaten, drank, etc.  I don’t want to give advice on the stretch (I just don’t know), but I would tend to size as close as I could in either direction.  I’m wearing 666’s XHS right now that are tight on me, but they look really good and if I lost five pounds would fit great.

If they’re not going to sell out in your size overnight, touch base with IHUK and ask for help…

We will not receive the black cargo pant until next week due to the delay in export from Japan.
So it's not online yet… but soon.

These are begging to be chicken-legged. In my punk rock days of yore I wore cut off black ripstop fatigues as cargo shorts.

                  Think it, be it.

This thread is pretty quiet. Did no one else get them?
Mine arrived today, thanks to @Iron Heart Germany
I went for the 36, and it doesn't look too bad. I can close the button and wear it with ease.
Despite losing a lot of weight during the pandemic, there is still a bit of belly left.
But it looks like 38 would have been way to loose, I'd say.
@Alex & @Giles - will the ripstop fabric give a little with time?

The trousers themselves are awesome. The weight of the fabric alone is fantastic, my old Carhartt and Reell cargo pants are laughable in comparison. Still they feel pretty lightweight. And they are indeed pretty relaxed…

As punk rock has been mentioned in this thread already, here they are combined with a shirt from Sunderland's finest!

@Alex has been wearing a pair for a while, so he is better placed than me to answer (as I am still working on the SLB's)….

I’ve been wearing 14oz black denim ones, not these, but I would anticipate these only stretching 0.25/0.5”

@tody would you call these “hikable”? Looking for lightweight long bottoms that safe my legs from mosquitos, pack well in a backpack and are quick to dry. Aaand are IH 😅

@weftyarn I believe that is exactly the garment you are looking for. Lightweight, but sturdy.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. Now the only question is Black or Olive.
Love the stealth look of the Black but the Olive probably stays cooler in the sun.

A little bit on the tight side in the waist (can easily close top button, but there’s some pull still), but that 0,5“ stretch would fix it. Other than that: Incredibly lightweight, sturdy, comfy through the leg. Confident this will become my lightweight sturdy hiking pants.
