Grabbed a pair of these last week.

I have always had a closet full of Dickies 874's and 873's so am so chuffed to be able to replace them with these beasts. I sized up to a tag 36 for a little room in the waist and thigh, I could 'button' the tag 35 but there is no way that these are going to give out.

I just need to find 20 minutes to take another inch off of the leg and then it will be chino spam from me!

Looking forward to! I remember my Dickies times, that was when I was watching too much Boyz n the hood and menace to society  😃

I received my pair last week and these are nice.  I would say the fit is somewhere between a Dickies 874 and Dickies Slim Taper.  I like how these also have the Dickies style clasp at the fly…not sure what you call that type of fastener but it's a nice touch that definitely adds to the dickies feel of these.  I still prefer the fit of the IH-721 over these, generally speaking, but these are a great option for when you want something a little baggier.  I would definitely pick up another pair of these in a different color if they are ever made.

If the IH-721's are too slim for your liking and you want a bit of a roomier, baggier look and feel without going full on 874 Dickies type of baggy then these are for you.

I picked up a pair of these while in Hamburg earlier this week. While I particularly like the fabric, I’m a little unsure if I’ll be happy with the cut - the front rise in particular. It is fine standing up and walking, but sitting behind a desk the whole day they got a bit uncomfortable. I’ll see if the give a little with more wear. What would be my chino options with a lower front rise?

There isn’t one from Iron Heart at the moment, sadly. 711 and 717 were marginally lower. 816 is a fantastic cut, but I don’t think it’s ever been released in a chino cloth.

The IH-721 is based on the 777 cut, so a low rise, slim tapered chino.

Oops, I always forget about those because the thighs are so tight. I stand corrected.

yeah, slim would be my issue with these as well - the thighs of the 730 are just right, but anything tighter probably wouldn't fit.

if the 816 work pant cut is similar to the 720 (also dubbed a work pant), that would indeed be fantastic to have in chino cloth.

Am I right assuming there is little to no stretch/shrinkage to be expected from these?

That is correct. Wasit will not budge in terms of stretch. Have not washed mine yet but no shrinkage to be expected. I am usually a tag 34/35 in denim but went for a 36 in these. Best to go a little more loose and be comfortable.

                          I love mine!:

@Dmart I'm with @Graham on this one. Go loose!
I recently gave away my 36 in exchange for a more loose 38.
With this particular model, you have to take the hook closure into consideration, which creates a nasty pull on the inner (white) fabric.

Bought a pair of these to wear to a wedding. I hate buying regular “wedding” clothes as I never end up wearing them again, so that factors into my decision making and I end up buying something cheap that I loathe. If I ratchet up the price to something that I actually like then I end up seeing it as a waste since I won’t wear it very often, if at all. At least these will get loads of wear over coming years. I know they ain’t strictly formal, but hey it’s a buddy’s wedding and he won’t give two shits what I’m wearing.

@Bailey kindly set aside a 34 with the largest waist and thigh measurements. They came out very close to an 888 fit, and I’m supper happy with them

The fabric has been described as soft and buttery in the 731 thread, which I’d agree with. It has an amazing hand feel, but there’s enough rigidity in the fabric to get some nice creases and feel rugged. All in all, an amazingly versatile pair of pants.

Quickly tried on with the wedding outfit

Really surprised with how well they work. In an ideal world for the wedding outfit they’d be hemmed to perfection, but I love a turn-up for regular wear.
