Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…
-
Correct Giles
should be ok I live in Germany
Bought direct from the HQ in Los Angeles . It says express shipping 🥳 1-5 days ….. -
Don’t know Kasi
Maybe I didn’t found it , it just says "international express order 1-5 days)
I will know when I get the shipping notification with tracking number.
Will let you know then !
I hope it’s not USPS, not the best experiences with them.
Hope for UPS -
That’s what my bad experiences are with USPS .
2-3 weeks are normal with USPS , tracking lost almost all the time and so on . They suck ! -
I hope the seller included the right documentation. You need a "drop ball test" to import glasses into the US. It's been a huge pain in the a$$ each time I bought a pair from abroad.
curious about what this was so I looked it up. I'm shocked that there are legislations regarding everyday glasses and sunglasses.. wow.
-
Interesting @JDelage … were any of the glasses produced by an American company like JMM? I've wondered if there was any downside to ordering a pair of JMMs from, say, End Clothing or somewhere else that had a particular pair I wanted in stock. So basically... if a pair is produced by a US company, shipped to a European retailer, then purchased by an American buyer, I wonder if it has to then pass the drop test
Oy.
-
I see. Bizarre. So, what — the glasses are held in customs until you can provide a certificate?
-
Yep. Depending on cases I have either sought and obtained a certificate (from JMM) or wrote one myself (they just need a "certificate" to release the watch. They don't care if you fill the form yourself.) For RX frames, I have requested the seller send the frames without the placeholder lenses, and mark the package as "glass frames with no lenses". That has worked too.

Ok guys, got a message from JMM HQ Los Angeles regarding shipping.
They ship with UPS
Thank God it’s not USPS, otherwise I might ended as a Christmas present -
Oh yeah JMM would never ship internationally with USPS. I don't really know many companies that would do that, period, especially not a high end one like JMM.
Also, a decision I came to today: think I'm gonna sell my Dealn 53 Noirs. I'll do the whole Buy/Sell thread post but just thought I'd throw it out here first in case it piques anyone's interest. Holler if so.

@Kasi
talked to Corissa yesterday
thank you for thinking of me and giving info ! -
So I had no idea JMM was a "thing" until I came across this thread today. Anyway, I was at Atelier Mira in Brooklyn over the weekend to pick out some new frames from the upcoming collection. These are pre-order to be delivered in July. Went with the Lacy (really liked the ecru (left), but went with ink (right) as a more practical choice):
For reference, my current pair is the Lee in black/clear (002/150):
