It will probably not surprise you that I am familiar with the modern nihlists. I can see the logic and appreciate the posistion, but there’s too much beauty in the world for me to subscribe to that way of thinking. Although it does remind me of one of my favourite poems… which may or may not be taken seriously. I’d imagine @ARNC  is familiar with a bit of Larkin. Thhe while poem is rather pertinent to our conversation the other night @goosehd

Perfect poem imho. Funny story, he was nailed on to be Poet Laureate, and then he wrote that. Quite probably in the spirit of wilful self sabotage.

I love that poem so much. Really one of the most accurate pieces of writing I've ever encountered in life, haha…

And let me add that I as well agree that there's a lot of beauty in life, and I very much love kids (even though I have none).

I’d imagine @ARNC  is familiar with a bit of Larkin.

I'm not a huge poetry guy, but everyone in the UK learns that particular Larkin poem at a pretty young age! In terms of my bookshelves I probably only have Wilde and a copy of the Rubaiyat (pretty much compulsory for anyone who reads Saki).
