Great pants but I’m admiring all of the chalk art in the background. And the pup too.

      we’re trying our best

@Kirk Ill be sure to let the girls know!  I have to keep them from doing the ground because the dog comes in covered in chalk so our solution was a rotating gallery of wall art.  It’s typically seasonal.  😃

@popvulture I had originally asked about work pants and G referred me to these which I had not previously seen. I def prefer these now that I have them. They are among my favorites.

Yeah I feel ya — I actually wouldn't mind a pair of these at all, but looks like the remaining sizes wouldn't work for me (I'd need a 34 since this stuff doesn't seem to stretch at all). I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for more pants in this fabric in the future, though. Good lookin' shit.

@Matt That pic is great. You unknowingly sold me on these and while mine in a 33 are perfect themselves, my waist is stubborn and at the moment, a perfect 34.  They are great pants and hopefully I’ll be wearing ‘em soon.  @popvulture  you need a pair.

Which production run are yours?  Mine are from the second which have a bigger waist so my 32 measures 33 which is perfect.  I originally got 33 but those were too big.  These couldn’t fit me better.  All my denim 888s are 32 and they stretch to 33 so again, perfection.

I should have been more clear in my post. Your sizing adventure was what got me aware of these awesome cargos in the first place. Mine are the second run too and the 33’s measure just a hair over 34” which should be perfect for me (as they were when I got them). But I’ve been eating some “parenting young kids through a pandemic” feelings and they’re just a bit snug now.  I can wear them but the snugness and high(er) waist are not a great combo for me comfort-wise.  Getting back into them is a little extra motivation to eat a little better.

Just snowy white fields as far as the eye can see.  The pounds will melt away.  You will have sold these pants by then for more cocaine but no plan is full proof.  On second thought, maybe go for a run.  I like running.

I like this plan. There are a few roadblocks to making it happen but I can work around them. As I implement the plan you may see some erratic forum posting from me. No worries!! That’s just me adjusting to my new energy level.

Seriously though, I love button flies but there’s something so satisfying about the zipper on these.

Yep, the zipper is awesome. I love everything about em but I especially love the whipcord.  I’m really looking forward to seeing how they evo once I actually get to put some wear on them. It would be cool to see another color too.

Anyone have some comparison notes on the 11oz Cotton Whipcord to the 17oz Cotton Duck? Like breathability, does the 11oz make it more bearable in hotter temperatures or does the whipcord's tight twill make it less bearable in hotter temperatures?

On a separate note how do people enjoy the double knees?

And duck is hotter / less breathable than twills like denim, pound for pound. Neither of these is great for hot weather.

Though I do have some whipcord Levi’s that are probably 12oz or under and quite good for warm weather.

All my pants are Tag 30 in 888. I wear a 30” in Denim and 30.5” in Duck, with the goal of a 31” post stretch. With the expectation of no stretch, and people’s suggestions to wear relaxed I got a 31.5”. It allows me to (a) wear a bit lower, without low rise flashing issue, (b) easily accomodate a full bladder, and © wear with a black nylon belt. (Though if I had got these in my regular post stretch of 31” it would have been perfectly fine imho). Given what previous posters have said of the possibility of some small decimal point level of waist shrinkage and no level of stretch, I think I’ve got an okay sizing.

I don’t typically wear belts, though I think a black nylon belt suits the olive military style cargo pants. The zip fly works great with a belt to allow easy relief without having to undo the belt. Additionally the high front rise accommodates a nice long fly, giving ample room for business.

I love the pockets! They are quite deep. Fits a phone, or fits my whole hand (flat) plus wrist. I really like how the pocket bag is a thick material, it feels nice on the fingers and suits the rest of the pants (being heavy / over engineered / military style).

A subtle point that I really appreciate: the pocket bag is one piece of material that is folded. So the inside part (so where your thumb touches and pointer finger touches) has no seam.

I put my wallet in one cargo pocket and phone in the other. I then use the regular pockets for my hands. This feels great and is so nice when you want to put your hands in pockets but don’t have pockets on the jacket/shirt. Also the way that the back of the cargo pockets is sewed shut makes me confident my wallet & phone won’t slip out when sitting. (Means you can’t do that thing of putting a water bottle in the cargo pocket, but I rather the protection sewing the back provides).

Given the above point, this will be a core part of my rotation. As the cargo puts some variation into the mix that the duck five pocket just can’t (the duck IS worth the purchase for the material and colour, but I would recommend this instead if you had to choose only one extra pair to go along with your jean (and if work permits cargos, and if you like cargos)).

Due to the shorter inseam and my taller height I’ve gone with one small cuff and some slight stacking, I like how it looks.

The brass snaps look and feel stunning, I am a tad sad my IHSH-326-BLK don’t have those too.

My only nit pick is that I think the double knee material should start an inch lower and end an inch lower. Maybe I just have unusually long thighs and short shins?

Given it’s the middle of winter right now: I do not notice it being hot outside, however I did notice it’s certainly warmer in the office than the 17oz duck.
