It seems we had luck on our side. I'm certainly glad that the events took place in the order they did. I have a lump in my throat reading it even knowing it's not true.

After the flood of the century, family is save and things are getting to normal in my town.
The conditions in the west are still serious. Thanks to fast desaster relief, situation is under control… but the fatalities couldn’t be kept low. News here.

We have to travel to Bonn in a few hours… Autobahn Number One looked like this yesterday, so we have to reroute.
