IHSH-293-OD - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
It was a stormy, windy day in Seattle, and I am astonished at how impressively wind resistant this shirt is. Even with a t-shirt under it, I felt absolutely nothing through the sleeves.
-
This has definitely broken in really, really well. It's not as buttery soft as my 33 is, yet, but it's amazingly comfortable, and works great over long-sleeve shirts especially well. The overdye works really well as a contrast piece with indigo denim, too (these are Oni 20oz secret denim 9 fits today). Just a really great piece to wear almost every day.

Any hints on when the 292 will be dropping? The more I wear this or my 33, the more I realize I need to make it a trio.

Says mid-May here:

Though they will not actually be ready in Japan until late this week, so I'd work on late-May…
-
Lol, thanks! Yeah, I saw it said mid-May but it's also already mid-May now…

A perfect representation of why to keep the slightly oversized 293 @richard. looks great with the hoodie and cargos
-
Thanks @jordanscollected and @neph93. It really is a great jacket.
-
What an awesome outfit overall!! Great fit on the CPO Richard!

Thanks man. I think sometimes you can get hung up on the descriptive word. I'm often a small in high street products, sometimes a medium, very rarely a large, and never, ever an xl. I have medium, large and one xl in IH shirts. You've gotta go with the measurements and the look…..

Bit of a stupid question cause 18oz is really hefty, but how comfortable/wearable/breathable is this denim? I ask ‘cause I find weight to not always tell the whole picture, a bit like how IH 21oz denim or 10oz chambray are on paper “heavy”, yet are really easy to wear even on hot days.
Is this shirt really just for colder temperatures? Really interested in picking one up, but want to be confident that it’ll get plenty of wear.

This shirt is very wind resistant, I think due to a tight weave. I take this as a plus, but it's not a shirt for the hottest days. On a merely warm day you may be able to get away with it better than a UHF because the fabric isn't brushed.

I’d imagine it would be a year round piece in the UK. Certainly not for hot summer days, but very useful as a shacket for summer evenings. The rest of the year it can be combined with layers or under a heavier jacket.
I have its predecessor, the IHSH-178 and can wear it all year round with ease, but I do live above the arctic circle.

Thanks guys @Mike_Lima_Papa , @neph93 . This is helpful, makes life easier when making the final decision which is all part of the fun with IH.

Certainly can’t layer with it in the UK at present, but can wear over a t shirt in lower 60F temps. It’s heavy when held, but not when worn. Worn opened it wears loose. As a shacket, in winter, you could easily layer on top of it.
