Matt's New Mexico (Formerly Airstream) Adventure

If they have finished finally then it will be GLORIOUS! That was an essential improvement. You should’ve seen how they had to shift traffic during construction. Insert puke emoji

Congrats! Hope the move goes smooth. How’s everyone feeling about finally settling down? Ya’ll have been on one hell of an adventure.

Thank you! We’re all ready. We’ve spent the past few days checking out the town and furniture shopping. We’re all chomping at the bit to get in there and spread out. Honestly though it seems like we haven’t been at it that long. I expected it to go a lot for there but the timing is right now.

Wow - a lot has happened since the last time I checked in on this thread.
Never had kidney stones but did come across this photo earlier this week while scrolling through Reddit… kidney stone under electron microscope.
On a brighter note, congrats on the new place @Matt ! Never been to ABQ but always mean to - a good friend lives in the Laguna Pueblo nearby (relatively). It has been an incredible ride so far - sorry to hear about selling the Tin Palace but glad that you'll come out on top. Other option is just park it on the street and use as a rental property given how your neighborhood is in-demand!

Thanks! Yeah, busy spring so far. We’re still trying to get to some Utah spots we had scheduled so stay tuned for our last hurrah.
Abq has been cool so far. We checked out two parks in our new hood and unfortunately each one introduced us to a Karen that we couldn’t stand. Hoping for better neighbors on our street.
Excited about the breweries nearby and all the New Mexican food. Also pumped about the flat screen we bought today, the new washer/dryer, robot vacuum, and dining room set. ???

While today isn’t officially the end, it is the beginning of the end. Last night we spent our last night in The Tin Palace and today at 10 we close on the new house. Katie got her first shot yesterday which is exciting and I’m set for 4/12, the day before my 30 hour solo drive back to MD to see family and retrieve the rest of our stuff. We put the Airstream on Facebook the other day and immediately got dozens of offers so we’re working through that. My plan for this thread is to keep it active until we return from our last planned trip Utah/AZ to see a few more National Parks in late spring early summer. After that I’ll probably ask the mods to lock it up or whatever they deem appropriate. I plan on posting whenever we visit some place cool but I’ll do that in relevant threads either based on what I’m wearing or whatever.
I want to thank everyone who joined us on our adventure. Being able to share our experience with an online community that I care about rather than with strangers on some other platform was an exciting part of it for me. I hope we kept it interesting for you and that you had fun traveling with us. The wanderlust will call on us again though, I’m sure, and a new thread will be born. Until then everyone be safe and persevere.

Was a great journey with you and your family Matt
The locations and the photo updates were the best.
-sad to see this part end, but looking forward to the next part! -
@Matt Thank you so much for the journey! It was both fun and educational. I hope you and your family will enjoy the comfort of your new home.
I’m sure as hell going to miss this thread
