Lookin too nice! I just purchased and wondering did you do an initial soak before you started breaking them in?

@Mental_SkëweR I did not soak them. But this is a personal preference thing. If you don't soak them be ready for some fade shifting when you do decide to soak/ wash them.

It's been about a month since the last wash and I gave them a hand wash again last night and let the hang over the furnace vent overnight. I am enjoying the evo on the selvedge from the cuffs being tucked into my snow boots. I'm looking forward to see where the combs are gonna shift to this time.

When you get these sorts of fantastic results you realize that you don't wear XHS, it wears you.  And once they are set like this, you can pour yourself in and let them do the walkin'.  I feel spoiled by XHS (and 21oz) because anything of lesser weight feels suited only to the dog days of summer.  Comb on.

Post wash photos. I've been wearing these off and on since July, and they've been used in pretty dirty situations (ranch work). As a result they see the inside of the washer more than most of the ones posted here. No high contrast fades but a well worn look that I prefer anyway.

I’m surprised these have such white fades. One has to ask where is the black weft?
Website says “…  and a reactive dyed black weft (that won't fade).”

They look amazing either way! Just thought it would be darker or the black would be more
Dominant.

The colour of the weft has very little to do with the colour of the fades.  Partly because very little of the weft is seen on the face of the fabric in a twill (denim) weave) and partly because the warp is rope dyed indigo so has a white core.  It is the abrasion of the indigo on the warp that exposes the white core that gives denim its characteristic fades.
