Ultra Heavy Happy Hour (IHF Virtual Gatherings) Thread
-
Yeah I had a good time, and was also texting my friend during certain parts. So it was cool, I don't have much of an attention span these days.
-
@sabergirl I was really hoping you were gonna be there. Maybe next time?
-
Oh well, I'll probably be going back to work soon as well.
-
Yes, thank you Reuben for hosting this virtual hang!
I’m shit at holding and keeping convos going, but it was great getting to meet you dudes virtually & just hang out. Def feels like it would make a real life fish n chips meetup less intimidating.
As for Hawaii’s snowy volcanoes, Mauna Kea (Hawaii Island) is 4,207.3 m (13,803 ft.) above sea level & I believe Haleakala (Maui) gets snow as well which is 3,055 m (10,023 ft.) above sea level. Thank you google

Thank you for hosting @neph93 and sorry I couldn’t stay on longer. At least I got to wear my leather out at a social event…
-
Yeah thanks Rueben for hosting and thanks to everyone for being so cool I’m quite nervous but you all seemed so nice and welcoming.
-
I am sorry I Missed this one–-I knew it was happening, but was out and about with a friend and couldn't make the time or connection.
I will for sure try and make the next one whenever it happens.
At 3,5 hours--should be time enough to shoot off a question or two

Regarding changing your background on zoom: This is quick and dirty but hopefully this loom video is available for everyone… here is the link:

I swear to god there was a totally different video when I opened this link up at 4am this morning before coming on, which is why I went 'nah too complicated'
also, it was great to be on with you guys for a few hours this morning. it's been awhile and it was great to see and hear your voices again.

Thanks to all who participated for all or some of the 3.5 hrs! Pretty amazing how quickly its goes. I'm also really happy the format works so well for those who want to talk, discuss, tell stories, and those who want to hang out and listen, or shoot in now and again. Big love to @Appfaff for hitting on this idea and making it happen the first time.
How about another one in about a month?
As for winners and prizes:
@Appfaff correctly spotted the IHSH-67
@scooter correctly called the IHxB01-SBG-MkIIThe background competition was tough. It was supposed to be a zoom background, and @Manticore had some pretty special ones, but I'm going to give it to @Chris and his truly glorious wallpaper. I'm still having involuntary flashbacks
I will sort out something fun for the winners using the same method @Appfaff used the last time and let everyone know here when it is done.

Oh! And thank you for this. They are high ??? I figured they would have to be to get snow on them. A rule of thumb is that temps drop by 1C for every hundred vertical meters over sea level. You can fairly accurately judge air temps at sea level based on the snowline on the mountains you can see from my house as the tallest is 1000m a.s.l.

I thought about attending yesterday, but I still feel kind of new here and was not sure if I fit in yet. From what I've read I see some people were just passive listeners, so next time I will try that.
Maybe after a few beers/whiskeys I will have a bit of courage to participate.
-
Yeah @Oaktavia if I can fit in here, it's proof anybody can. I wouldn't sweat it next time because everyone seems like 'good people'.
-
I guess I need to get some new wallpaper to compete with @Chris ! Lol!
