We threw a birthday brunch for Hattie’s 2nd birthday on Sunday. Wife themed it “Two Legit Two Quit,” a 90s hip-hop deal. Best weather we’re likely to have for weeks. I did my best to wear nineties gear, which means tattered jeans and an unbuttoned flannel.

We had a little pre Christmas DIY session with the Munich crew. Whiskey, Pizza, just hanging around great friends and crafting something. What more can you ask for.

Rainy in Maui today. Let’s go to the aquarium!

On the drive back, I was rewarded with one of the most inspiring sights I’ve ever seen. Impossibly close to the shore of southwest Maui (I think within 200m of me), a gigantic humpback whale breached MAJOR air with a twist and a mighty splash. I have seen this from a distance, but this was the closest and most dramatic one I’ve seen. I pulled over and looked for more but just got the one. Made my day. I just love our cetacean cousins of the sea.
