So, we are on a mission to fill the production capacity of Mr Heavy Flannels workshop. He makes most if not all of our 12oz and under shirts.
We've wanted to increase the number of chambray offerings we do for years and it turns out that a fabric with no pattern and under 10oz is relatively easy for Mr Heavy Flannel to put through the workshop. Funnily enough, a couple of days before we were with Mr Heavy Flannel, we were at a textile distributor and had picked out some chambray we liked…..

Khaki chambray ihsh-315 is my favourite shirt, would love more colours, especially earth tones. It's the perfect shirt fabric.

The samples are made, but we can't put them into production yet due to our jeans production issues
Well, that’s progress since the last time I asked, so that’s good news. What jeans production issues? I must have missed something.

During the lockdown in Japan virtually all foreign workers went home and were not allowed back in. So mills and factories have been running at approx 60% capacity for a couple of years.
Japan is opening up again now, so things will get better.
How we fix this as a company was one of the major talking points when @alex and I were in Japan a couple of weeks ago.
One of the factories that makes a lot of of our stuff was remarkable. They have built a lot of housing onsite for the foreign staff, they have individual kitchens in each apartment and a massive communal kitchen. They also have a massive vegetable garden so produce can be grown on site. Alex and I were totally blown away with the care that the owner of the factory and his wife took of their "family"….
