@seawolf Oh yeah I definitely used some blue loctite on those bolts before I sized the bracelet. I appreciate the heads up though!
It really is a great value for the price and I love the simplicity and legibility. Mine has been running at +3 seconds which I'm happy with.

@Matt and I have been talking watches, and the conversation reminded me that I needed a new battery for my
G-shock GA-1000. Lucky for me, the watch shop reminded me I had one month left in my 5 year battery warranty so it was free. I also had them put the original grey band back on, which I had switched for black some time ago.

Glad to hear it! It's insane how accurate they've made those movements. Mine runs pretty consistently at +1 sec per day which is just incredible for a watch in this price range.
A friend of mine has a Grand Seiko, and in the manual, it says that if it's running a little fast, you can leave it on your nightstand leaning on its crown, and if it's running slow lean it on the other side (I might have those mixed up, but that's the general idea).

@Matt i have a g-shock with that negative display and they are hard to see. They look cool, but I’m torn on the practicality.
I also see you have four of the same watch (shape/style), so it must be one you’re drawn to. Out of those I like 5 and 6 the best and would have to see them in person before I complete a purchase.

That’s interesting Dennis. I was drawn to the first two because I like the grey clear a little more than the clear clear but I can see what you’re saying about the difficulty in reading it. You’re right about the last three. If that came in the grey clear I’d go for it and the 4 is currently my #1 but 5 and 6 are cool with the phosphorescent details. They’re visible in the dark apparently and I like a little color.
And $75 for G-Shock is pretty solid so far as I can tell.

That sucker has gotten me in the ribs numerous times too.Cost of out-of-warranty repair is not great. Watch still easily legible, just has a horizontal crack across the Gorilla glass. The options I'm considering:

Ride it out and try to remember not to submerge the watch

See if I can procure a replacement crystal and self-repair

Pay Garmin to repair

Get the new version
I am leaning towards option 1, then option 4.
I miss mechanical watches but the advantages of this watch and its tracking have been major and even made me some money at work through an incentive program

I really like the subtlety of size of the 2100 model but am leaning more towards the green than the blue. But blue is more “denimy.”
That model is called the CasiOak due to the bezel shape's similarity to Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak watches.
