Sazerac (rye whiskey) BA barleywine... Sweet, slightly spicy; absolutely the way I love a good BA barleywine...

My mate's always buying these crazy vintages at low prices… So I now have
2x 2008 (well only one left now)
2x 2009
2x 2010And I paid the same as I would for a 2021 bottle…
I had '09 and '10 last summer... Best ones I've ever had... These are from a different seller/ cellar and this particular '08 is past its peak.. Still extremely drinkable for its age though...
Still missed me?..

That’s a great Veil beer.
Triple Crossing and Aslin last night.

You know that feeling you get after you've been drinking steadily for several hours, and you take a sip of beer and you are absolutely certain that if you take one more sip, you are definitely, positively going to puke?
Yeah, that's the feeling I got after the first sip of this:
Weirdest sensation I've ever had; it's not that it tastes bad, but somehow my body utterly rejected it at almost a cellular level. I tried it twice, months apart, once after a couple of other beers and once completely sober. Same reaction both times.

Hypothesis: it's because guava has a musky note that doesn't play well with lactose. I bet that stuff tastes like cat barf.
-
You should, just because my reaction was so bizarre. That can't be normal.
Of course, if Belgian customs wasn't what it is, and if I hadn't dumped the other two cans of it that I had in the pantry, I'd be sending them to you tomorrow…

Lactose does it for me. I stay away, except for a few of the OH Dream beers. Lactose doesn’t get fermented. That’s why it’s used. Are there other beers you like with Lactose?
