@Wolfer:

Yesterday I gave the shirt a good but gentle brush wash (with brush Im using for my boots, I think its made with pig’s hair). Now the white popped out nicely. Im washing it weekly, but the dirt was so deep penetrated, that I was confused last couple of weeks. The result is great!

I just tried my boot brush on a different shirt I'm working on and sure enough it lifted a lot of the dirt off (still unwashed). I was kind of surprised…kind of like a dry "wash" or perhaps better described as a brushing. Thanks for posting that idea.l, I'll try it with my wabash work shirt soon too once it gets a but dirtier.

@neph93:

I have hot washed and machine dried indigo wabash a number of times. There is a decent amount of shrinkage to be had. But please do soak the garment thoroughly before washing if  you are going to put it in the machine. Use the shower head. And low spin too.

Otherwise everything @Alex_24 says is spot on.

What does soaking do before you put it in the washer ?

I think it keeps the fabric from having uneven dye loss when it forms creases while being tossed around and/or spinning.

Correct….It helps stop creasing in the washer which will form high abrasion spots....

Giles,

Any idea on the likely restock date for a small?

I'm afraid we only just submitted a new production order, so it is likely to by Feb/Mar.

I checked in Japan and there are no Small available, unfortunately.

Sorry.

Never thought I would like the Wabash. Saw it a VMC in Zurich today and just had to take it.

It is pretty amazing fabric, and the cut of them is special. A little extra taper and length compared to other IH shirts.

It really is. I downsized as I always do we the heavier, stiffer shirts and it’s perfect. In two years it will be legendary.

Just picked this shirt up in XXL (my normal IH shirt size) Gave it a nice hot soak and hot wash and was able to get some decent shrinkage. Love the fit of this shirt with the extra length and the tapering silhouette. The fabric is top notch as well. This thing is warm and feels like it's going to last a lifetime! One question. Has anyone tumble dried this shirt?

I’ve tumble dried my black 62,with no adverse effects. If there was shrinkage it was minimal.

Thanks @Jett129  It's nice having an IH shirt i can wash with reckless abandon and not have to baby like my UHFs. Loving the fit of this post hot wash.

^ Agreed! This is the most robust shirt from IH that can take a beating and still retain it's originality. I love the Wabash next to my NIN.

Keep it up with the evo pics! It gives me something to look forward to, as I sit here patiently waiting for a size large to pop up on restock or MP.

I love long walks on the beach & 21oz denim.

And I can only agree to what’s been said on how sturdy it is.
The black is my main work shirt, and it can really take a beating!

Use it or lose it.

For info, for those of you finding it interesting and useful.
Did a 60 degrees celsius wash using a front loader machine.
No soaks or washes have been done previously.

Found it a tad too large and too long before, so therefor I did not make use/wear it (the shirt) as much as I would have like to.
Am pleased with the result now after washing. Sleeves good, so is front and back.
Perhaps chest a bit too snug, especially as I like wearing a heavy sweater underneath, but still works and am sure it will stretch back out again. So no worries.  🙂 🙂 😉 😛

Thanks for posting that @Adero . I’ve been contemplating buying a used one (all I can find, atm), that’s a size too big. So, this helped put shrinkage into perspective. US machines do not have a temp setting like yours; is 60 degrees Celsius hot?
