Thanks @Pipeboss713
Consensus was to size up, but I'm a fairly small guy so I was concerned with these being too big. Buying my actual IH pant size was a good move for me. Roomy but not over large -
Congrats @hajduk ! I own the 21oz and the Wabby overalls, can't wait to see some pics of your herringbone ones! If you end up hating them, I know another bib wearer who takes a 34
It's me, I'm talking about me haha

Help / Advice requested; Hi BIB brothers & sisters, I am wanting to tap into the collective wisdom of you all by asking a question on sizing. I have decided that now is the time for me to commit to purchasing a pair of black wabash overalls but the question is what waist size. With a tape measure against my skin my waist has an actual size of 34 inches. After reading this thread I have to admit I am still confused on sizing so what is your suggestion, advice?
So to recap I am a true 34 inch waist so what size (in black wabash) should I purchase in an pair of Iron Heart overalls. Feedback encouraged. Thanks in advance

I wear a 34 in most IH jeans and got a 34 in both my 21oz and my indigo Wabash. The overall fit of the Wabash ones is a little more trim (nothing major) presumably because the base fabric isn't as heavy. This worked for me because I'm a smaller, thinner guy and I was concerned I'd be swimming in them. Both pairs, when all buttoned and done up, fit fairly close in the abdomen, but not so much so that I don't have room to layer a sweatshirt underneath them.
GENERAL advice has been to go up one size from your normal pant size, since in fairness the bibs are intended more as a relaxed fit and not really intended to fit like my 34 777xhs. If I weren't already somewhat in between a 33 and 34 I probably would have sized up too. The thing to remember is the waist on the bibs will sit differently than a regular pair of jeans, and also won't give when you bend over the same. You don't want to try and fit them so close that you'll be getting a little punch in the gut when you lean over.
I'm sure others can give some advice, but it's more a matter of how you want them to fit, and they're generally a little more versatile and comfortable sized up. -
@Joberwocky thanks so much for your experience and feedback which is appreciated greatly. Hoping a few other will contribute so I can see how alternate viewpoints sit against your knowledge and experience. Sizing up one size may be difficult as I'm a 34 and there's a 34 and 36 available in Japan but not a 35. Hmmmm….

@den1mhead I wear a 36 in the 888/634 nowadays and got the 805 is 36, they’re a really nice relaxed fit

I don't think the bibs come in odd sizes, so sizing up for both of us from 34 would be the 36
What @Giles said, because I chose to respond to you before seeing if anyone else had chimed in

After what @Joberwocky and @LewisStonehouse have said I reckon the ideal tag size for me would be a 34" waist. Thanks fellas for your insight and experience.

I got a camera and I'm still trying to learn how to use it.

Thanks Alex
it's neat because it lets you see what's through the viewfinder on your phone. But the sun was too bright to see what's on the screen. I was experimenting with some longer exposure times. But I haven't had a photography class in like 25 years so I forget just about everything.
