@SKT:
You guys have convinced me to keep going on White Lotus. I’ll jump into episode 2 tonight.
It is a matter of taste of course, but if you didn't like ep.1 it may not be for you. It is basically a six episode movie. That being said, there is a lot more sex, drugs and white anxiety going forward and it is pretty fucking funny at times.

I'm watching the first episode of White Lotus and it's great, I did not know what to expect coming in
-
I'm on the third episode, Armond is stealing the show
-
It only gets better @Giles.
Deadwood, the Wire starting with the 2nd season -
Man, to go back to a time I hadn't seen The Wire, just to enjoy it again
-
The Wire is so amazing. Last season was kinda weak, but it was nice to see Bubbles's storyline wrap up in a way that felt authentic.

4 episodes into White Lotus. What a strange train wreck so far. I can't tell if I'm going to give it a 1 or a 10 once I'm through.

Unfortunately it was the McNulty fake serial killer bit that failed for me. It was supposed to be the idea that held the final season together and it never worked. I loved the wrap up everyone went through and the idea how each character was replaced by the next gen. Also Snoop’s final season with Michael still gives a lump in my throat.

Plus 1000 on the Wire. Watched thru 2xs 10 years ago. How does it hold up now that so much time has passed?
Currently watching The night manager. Pretty solid. -

Was that a fucking spoiler?

The Wire is a show that I’ve hammered all my friends to watch, sometimes unsuccessfully because it’s a little hard to get into. It’s been at least 10 years since I watched it. May have to rewatch now. We’ve had two kids since then so all my memories from prior have been wiped by sleep deprivation.
jordanscollected I just finished White Lotus and I feel the same. There were parts I absolutely loved and parts where I scratched my head. I think the themes reminded me a little too much of what I perceive to be wrong with American culture right now. And I’m sure that was the point but it was uncomfortable to watch. Probably also the point.
