Late to the party, but I really love Alone and Alone: The Beast.
For those who are unfamiliar, it's a reality show (normally I detest those) where the contestants see who can survive in the wilderness with limited tools. The last contestant standing gets $500k. The Beast is a bit different, where teams of 3 survivalists have NO tools and must use the corpse of a beast such as a moose to survive 30 days.
Fascinating stuff and makes me wish I had a mastery of bushcraft.

First off, Alone, beast edition sounds insane and I’ve got to find it. Don’t think I’ll be able to convince the wife to watch that one…
[mention]Joberwocky [/mention] Im with you and love “what we do in the shadows”. Movie was one of my favorites and the series is great as well. Can’t wait for it come back.
We tried getting into White Lotus but didn’t love episode one. Does it get better?

@Joberwocky Hulu. It’s A&E instead of History like the original.
@SKT i failed to mention the best part: it’s in the Arctic at the start of winter. So lots of brown and black bears and wolves about in addition to the climate. I think Northwest Territories, Canada perhaps.
Which reminds me of another favorite survivalist show, Survivorman. Les Stroud at least used to live in Yellowknife. That show needs to join one of the streaming platforms.

I finished the first episode and it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Don't think it would be a self-contained episode. I'm currently watching alone s7 and its been enjoyable @SKT

[mention]Joberwocky [/mention] I’m new to the whole genre so it was all a surprise to me. I like that she went grouse hunting with a moose scapula…don’t see that every day. I think the other “contestants” may have cried “bat” too soon and jumped ship. I think when someone bails, the producers should give a tool to the remaining people to compensate. It kind of felt like she was Leo in “The Revenant”, minus the bear actually attacking.

I'm planning to sign up for another month of HBO to watch 100 foot wave and White Lotus.
White Lotus is fantastic. Finished it last week.

You guys have convinced me to keep going on White Lotus. I’ll jump into episode 2 tonight.
It is a matter of taste of course, but if you didn't like ep.1 it may not be for you. It is basically a six episode movie. That being said, there is a lot more sex, drugs and white anxiety going forward and it is pretty fucking funny at times.
