      Thank you @den1mhead!

Mainly two reasons speak against going up a size in denim jackets for me:

First, I get very cold easily and hence I prefer wearing my leather jacket or wool coat over wearing denim jackets.

Second, if I size up to be able to layer with my denim jacket, then I'd be unhappy with the sleeve length. As I wear my denim jacket mostly in the warmer times of the year, just a t-shirt should be fine!

Not as much of an "outfit advice" as a cool find. I was returning a gift for my wife to Nordstrom Rack and stumbled upon these utility jackets from The North Face. Really odd release for them IMO, and maybe why they ended up at The Rack. They are a fairly hefty and rough cotton fabric.

The Slate grey/black one is a size medium, and the Undyed or Ecru is a size large. I didn't purchase either, but they seem like a cool outer layer over IH for $80.

(I have now seen it for $65 on Backcountry.com. that may push me over the edge.)

Looks like a duck canvas and North Face jumping on the heritage wagon. Lovely design on them.

I think that's a solid design (especially like the raglan and pockets) and I like North Face a lot for a mass manufacturer.

            Think it, be it.

Heya folks!  I was so happy when I was able to get an IHSH-106 in a size Large.  I had missed that drop and I love that color combination of brown and orange.  I couldn't help wondering if I should've sized up, though.  I tend to go with large denim shirts and jackets, sometimes a medium.

Then, I found someone selling the IHSH-106 in a size XL!  Oh happy day!  Now that I have both, I know that I have to get rid of one but I'm not sure which.  Can y'all chime in?  BTW, that's not sweat on my t-shirt, I just got out of the shower, though it is 90F outside and I'm wearing a quilted shirt… 😃

The large fits trim but is a bit tight right around the top of my pectoral when I button:

The XL fits a bit large, but buttons without issue:

              Thanks!

I think they both look good, but XL is the way to go in this particular piece for mobility and possibility of layering.

The recommendation was to size up on these when they came out as they were made to normal western dims, but the lining made them fit smaller. I took an XXL which I still use, but could have gotten into an XL.

In your case I would say the L is a shirt fit, the XL a shacket fit. Looks like you could layer under the XL. They both work in their way.

Go with the one you’ll use more?

                    Thanks, you two!

I do remember reading that the recommendation was to size up on these, so the XL would fall into that category.  I don't know if I could go so far as to layer under the XL…maybe a light flannel or denim shirt, but it's definitely roomier.

I just want to make sure that it looks like I'm wearing the XL instead of the XL wearing me, know what I mean? 😃  If y'all don't think that the XL looks too big, I'll stick with it.

Imho, if you aren’t going to layer under the XL, then the L is your best fit.

I can see it is a little trim there, but I think the XL looks too big without something under it.

That would be my vote too. The XL with layers.

Looking for advice on this North Sea Clothing Brig 2 cardigan. The quality is great and I think I like it but am not sure about the ribbed waist and how tight the neck is. Used to cardigans that when open have a straight gap down the middle if that makes sense, whereas here the neck is tight and waist loose. It is a function of the design and perhaps a good thing?

I think it looks good. I never button all the buttons of Cardis or Vests tho.. I usually leave the top and bottom buttons undone - that might alleviate your issue!

Neck looks fine.  Sleeves look a bit long.  The bunching around the waist looks sloppy when buttoned.  Looks pretty good when unbuttoned.

I like the cutaway effect of the opening and the general fit. The sloppiness is part of the look for me. Cardigans are supposed to be relaxed. I would be very happy if it were me.
