Hey everyone. So I’ve been thinking about indigo overdying an old white hoodie that has a lot of food and coffee stains (which is mainly the reason I don’t wear white) and I was looking for resources on dyes to buy and techniques to use. I though you all might be the best to ask. Appreciate your replies!

Make an indigo vat. Gonna need to dye more than just a hoodie though. If you could find a few other things it would be worth the work to make a vat.

Here’s the place I buy from:

        https://maiwa.com/collections/indigo

Or you could overdye with one of their other pigments which you could do in a smaller pot and not have to make a vat.

Out of curiosity, what's the maximum amount of vertical shrinkage one can hope to get put of a pair of XHS? I've never had the foresight to try to figure this out on my own before. I figure about .75 of an inch?

My 666-21s turned One yesterday and I love them _ But I want to try another weight for this spring-summer-
Im thinking between the 666s-19ib and the 666s-142od.

which one would consider more breathable?–-I recall you having these in the past maybe?
                Or maybe it was Alex-

What I would really love would be the  666-19Leftys----but it says that they won't be made again-

                Any advice would be cool-----thanks

I will try a different cut at some point, but for now im really liking the devils cut 🙂

the 666S-19L will be restocked soon, but that denim is hotter than the 21 oz.

I would look at the 14 or 18oz. The 18oz is very breathable.

thanks for that fast reply Alex-  Great to know about the 19L`s. I think I need a lefty in my life:)
As for now–-I will look more at those 18s---at some point I gave up on weight logic.
ive got plenty of tops and need to beef up my bottoms---that came out wrong-
                    you know what I mean.

In my experience it had varied from 0.5-0.8” but that is with a hot (50-60C), soak, a little agitation and air dry. If you wanted to do a machine wash and tumble dry you may get an inch, not least on a pair with a full, unhemmed inseam.

Something I’ve wondered about. The first Harley engine that had an official name was The Flat Head. Does this have anything to do with the company of the same name?

Next I am thinking about drilling into the inside sole with a fine drill bit and injecting a small about of boot oil in there.

@zhivago @motojobobo this actually worked. I wore them all day lots of walking, and no squeaking.

Well done @Filthy ! Not surprised…your idea sounded solid from the beginning and execution was likely spot on. You ought to post it in places like styleforum or reddit where these boots get a lot of traffic. There is value in your hack as I’ve read about many Wesco/Viberg/Whites owners complaining about sole squeak and either sending them back or selling them.

                                    The journey is the objective.
