So very sorry @QuantumMechanic

Very sad to hear this , he sounds a lot like my american bulldog. I will also give hank an extra treat today in honor of Berkley

I want to thank everyone who has reached out to me. I also want to thank everyone who gave their special furry friend an extra cookie. May I ask another favour? Maybe post a pic of them
Berkeley was such a special boy, and so is this forum. @Giles thanks for maintaining such a wonderful, engaging and polite forum.
Up until the very end, Berkeley made people smile. On our last walk, a family left a Dairy Queen, and the two little girls in the back seat saw Berkeley and pointed as they jumped up and down with big smiles. That was Berkeley, and that was his last gift to us.
This is a recent photo that my wife took when she noticed Berkeley and I stating at one another. It was one of our daily rituals.
Berkeley with his little sister Emerson.

@QuantumMechanic I am also sorry to hear of your loss. Berkeley sounds like a very special dog.

Seeing everyone's furry best friends warmed my heart this morning - so thank-you. The more photo's and stories the better as far as I am concerned.
@sabergirl you have a keen eye. Berkeley was such a smart individual and he had such a large personality that I am glad it is captured.
Thanks all for easing some of my pain.

Quantum - that is very kind of you. The best simile I can come up with is that I regard this forum and the way it behaves as like having a dinner party at our house. I don't mind drunkenness, high spirits and bad beviour as long as it is well-meant, I won't abide rudeness or bigotry, and if anyone thinks they can do that in my house, that's the last time they are invited…
Some members (all ex), just did not get that....

I'm honored to be at the Iron Heart table, always tipsy when the good stuff is passed around but mindful never to be rude, much less to our hosts. My wife Susan and our pup Sadie, born February 2020, offer their gratitude to the great pups like Berkeley who've made it a better world time and time again.

@QuantumMechanic - I am very sorry for your loss. Your testimony is the kind of thing I read that make me want to add a dog to the existing cats… ???
-
@JDelage - just do it. Cats are wonderful and bring smiles, but if you're pulled towards having a dog then a dog you must have…they truly become part of the family in every way. They take residence in your heart and their they reside
You've all helped ease some of my suffering and while I still grieve I would like to thank everyone who took a minute of their time to post or dm me. I am truly humbled by all the excellent people here.
I'm not crying you're crying. From happier days.

I dropped by a breeder today and met some interesting (and rare) sighthounds. As you can see, they have a very tough life!
The two dogs at the left hand side of the couch are Salukis. The tan one is a smooth type, whilst the white has a feathered coat. The two brown and white dogs with the wide collars are Azawakhs, and the black and tan one between them is a Sloughi.
I am interested in an Azawakh. They are originally from West Africa, and are a guard and hunting dog. They can be skittish with strangers, but seem to settle down quickly. My girlfriend liked the white Saluki best, because he had a soft, fine coat.

Watching “Rico” for a few days— No fuss/no muss with this little guy.
And like a top ten hit, the “Wabash” is in heavy rotation these last few cold days️

Here's Holly with her hooded birthday quilt coat my wife made for her! Can't believe she's 10! The coat is quite warm for a dog: it's quilted from 2 layers of a pretty hard-wearing ~4 oz cotton (hard wearing for 4 oz cotton at least haha) with a pretty standard cotton batting fabric sandwiched in between, and then it's lined inside with a woven acrylic (lol) flannel that's designed to look kind of like a Pendleton-esque fabric. The binding is also the same 4 oz cotton as the body. We couldn't stop laughing about how she looks like an astronaut.
Going and getting it dirty immediately:
Bonus Tyrion the cat showing off the lining on a dirty coffee table haha:
