I think that is a beauty @Filthy ! I’ve always liked the straight lines and the grille on these Jeeps. Never owned one, yet.
You ought to post a pic in IH gear standing in front of it.
How is the fuel economy on it?

      The journey is the objective.

@Graeme if you think that's massive, do not look up F150s or G63 6x6s…

congrats @Filthy that truck is gorgeous!!!

Since the Gladiator was released it seems like they sold fairly slow. You just don't see many on the road yet.

I'm really diggin the new Bronco. Of course you see the Mojave desert pics first with a fully loaded bronco and they make 5% those, and 95% the "stripped edition".

I currently have a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, and though it has 100k on it (2015), I bought it when they were offering 0% APR and a lifetime warranty. I have been into the dealership a few times for a thousand or more in repairs and simply signed my name, free rental and all.

Enjoy the Gladiator, it's a great summer truck

@jordanscollected I have been looking forward to the new Bronco for like 5 years. But I am not that crazy about the design. I think it looks too futuristic. The fully loaded one is really nice. But a 50k small suv is kind of out of my budget. Also it is already sold out.

I also am not crazy about how there's not a lot of cargo room versus the old ones. My friend has a '78 Bronco and is basically the size of an F-150 but there's a ton of cargo room and no carpet. It's like a pickup truck bed contained in the interior. The other model is basically a grocery getter.

I am very pleased with my truck and I am glad I got one. I think it is supposed to be the highest rated truck this size on the market or something. I love a lot about it is kind of understated. There's not even a jeep logo or medallion on the grille.

Good luck with the new jeep @Filthy. I'd like to mount Stingers on my ride to blow up the goddam deer.

Gladiators are amazing - I wish I could
Get one, but it’s actually too small for what I haul around without a lot of extra add ons… but the Rubicon with large tires, extra suspension, etc does looks much larger than a S or Altitude

I’m actually thinking of swapping my 2019 Ram 1500 (which I have to say, I 100% love) for the 2020 2500 Power Wagon... I want MORE room and need a bigger bed, and want the off road goodies plus a 6’4 bed - which you can’t get with a full size cabin in the 1500 rebel.

Case in point - my average Saturday haul...

                        Or my other recent hobby…

My friend who is the local Jeep/Ram GM told me the power wagon is atrocious to drive compared to the 1500, but all the reviews say it’s quite nice considering the size… anyone happen to have one of these beasts?

@Appfaff you should get one of these. 3x as many horses as my Jeep and $71k base price $92k as pictured in the article. They need to start doing 10 year financing terms on these trucks.

I’d love it - however, I treat my trucks like a truck, and throw shit in them without much care - is feel bad about doing that on a truck that expensive

I sometimes get to drive trucks sort of close to being that nice as rentals for work. I always feel slightly nauseous when I see what we do to them, especially the paint and interior, after a week or so worth of work.

The best part about that Dodge is that it doesn't have that shifter dial that most Dodges have. One of the guys on a job actually had one roll away and it almost ran someone over. He left it idle and I guess not in park. It actually got enough momentum to roll slightly up a grade, then went down over an embankment into a swap in Texas.  😃

                                      Thanks @Appfaff

This is the first big Point to decide, here in Germany we have Emission Stickers that show how much Co2 the Car produces, without the Sticker you cant drive into many major citys. That leaves me with two Options, either take a 2005ish and later Model because they either have the Green Sticker or can get them with a aftermarket Filter or I have to get one Pre 1990 because this would be considerd "historisch" or Oldtimer which in Germany gives you the Letter "H" on the Numberplate and besides other benefits frees you from any Emission regulations.

The question then is how daily-able are those 1990 and ealier Defender, I´m talking Autobahn driving to work, lots of Kilometers, work in the Forest and because i live in the City also driving in thick traffic ?

I’ve never had one, but based on what I do know, I think a solid axle defender may be the worst car for what you are looking for… the new one would work tho!

They are like driving a tank, and are not fast, break down often, and leak... but they are also fun as hell on sand and dirt 🙂

@Steffen I had a 1995 Turbo diesel Defender  that I imported from Spain. I had it for about a year that and loved it.  It was my daily driver but at the time I lived only about 20km from work.  Here in Ontario Canada it was exempt from any emissions standards so that was a plus.  I managed to get a good one but as you probably know from your searching that there is a huge range of conditions on these vehicles.  Take your time to find one thats as free from rust as possible.  Mine coming from Spain was a good start.  I dont know how mechanical you are but they do take constant care and maintenance (mine did anyway).  The good thing is that most of it is pretty straightforward.  Get the workshop manual and you can do most of it yourself if thats what you like to do.  I enjoy working on cars and love the satisfaction of solving an issue but its also nice to take to a mechanic when its the middle of February and you dont want to like on the concrete floor of your garage checking fluid levels.  Parts are easy to get and normally you can find a different range in prices for those parts depending if you buy OEM or aftermarket.  I ended up selling mine because my wife and I moved further away and I just didnt want to do that much highway driving with it.  Ideally one day Ill have another when I can have two cars.  (or 3 when I finally get my El Camino).  Im sure you have figured out most of this stuff in your research so good luck with the purchase.  Its was loads of fun but I agree with what was said above.  Its noisy, leaks, cold in the winter, but worth it.

I loved mine, it was an 07 version from memory.  I sold it recently because I was only putting about 1000 miles a year on it.  It used to be our only car, then I did Scotand and back in 3 days with Haraki and decided I needed something that was better for long trips.  It was a 2.5 Turbo Diesel and drank fuel.  In the 7 years I has it, the turbo blew, but was covered under warranty and the bonnet lid opening cable stuck, that's really all that went wrong.  Parts are super cheap - I reversed into a wall at home, before I realised that it had a much longer overhang that our previous car, and bust all the lights on one side.  All delivered next day for under £20 inc delivery…..
