Love the outdoor pics @neph93

Great pictures Reuben.
I've noticed in your pictures that when you're at the library the shoes are off, does everyone have to take there shoes off before they go in?

Thank you! The children’s section is no shoes. Everyone has to take them off. Norway and Japan share some strict cultural aversions to shoes indoors. Most schools up until age 15 don’t allow them, and everyone has a hallway/annex at home where you take off your shoes before going indoors. The importance of sock game is real [emoji1]

These are the highlights mate. Work is a fekkin drag I can promise you [emoji6]

Thank you sir. I’m almost done with my leg but I’ll endeavour to get some more out before it is over.

@doguhanca:
I'd love to get your full recipe on all types of bread that you bake and would recommend me!
Thank you. It is a fairly simple, traditional Norwegian bread using a decent amount of coarsly ground corn types. I have a big family with small children so keeping it simple and healthy is important. I only know the recipe in Norwegian and I don’t know all the translations off the top of my head so I’ll have to look them up. I’ll get back to you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get back to me. I'm looking forward to your recipe and to trying it out myself. Unfortunately, so far I haven't been that successful with my trials. I've mostly gotten a sloppy oat consistency on the inside.
Also I showed your baked bread to my (Danish) girlfriend and she approved as well

Kids can go blind from ingesting some of the parasites in dog poop.
Shoes off is the way…
My sister in law is from the Czech republic, wear shoes in her house and she will roast you !!

We have shoes off in our house but its not a necessity in public places here in the UK, I wish it was though.
-

That’s a fair call I’d say. Never know when you’re going to step on a bloody great spider or snake [emoji16]

One of the best legs ever, love your pics Reuben!

My leg is nearing its conclusion and soon the jacket will be making its return across the Atlantic to @scooter. The triangle will be closed and if you know anything about the occult you’ll know that it means shit’s about to get evil [emoji23]
I’ve a couple of updates left in me though. This week I had to travel to Glomfjord about 130km south of Bodø to moderate some oral exams. Happily it is a journey along one of the most beautiful roads in Norway the RV17 coast road. I could have stopped about 50 times but was on a tight schedule. Here’s some iPhone snaps from my 5am start (in case anyone needs reminding, we’re at the point of the year where the sun never sets).
The high school I was moderating at is in a tiny village with an illustrious industrial history. I wish I could have looked around more as it is amazing place but time was at a premium. Suffice to say it is well situated.
If anyone is wondering about some of the green colours in the foiliage, that is entirely natural and I’ve not edited these. This is what happens to planta when growing season is very short but you have 24 hour sunlight.
On the way back home I stopped at a monument that marks the loss of the WWII submarime Uredd (Fearless). It’s a sad story but a beautiful spot.
In other news, my students are finishing and leaving for the summer. I have one more week before my holidays start. I was presented with this laminated sheet of some of my more sweary utterances through the year by my graduation class. Turns out one of them started writing down some of my more choice comments. Apologies in advance to monarchists and ginger people ( @Graham @Megatron1505 ).

On another note, I feel like this jacket has lived a thousand already. From Alabaman heat to north eastern steel works and now …
…into The White Nights above The Arctic Circle. Great job Reuben!
Pleased to be a part of The Iron Heart Triangle of Terror Type III Trucker Tour.

That’s a POST right there!

My leg is done and the jacket shipped today to @scooter in the USA. I had to skip the ceremonial beer as it complicates things massively in Norway but there is another Norwegian treat in with the package. I also sent a copy of the new IH look book along as tour kit:
Took some snaps of the jacket as well.
It is magnificent. Hot Ingrid was sad to see it go. I’ve never bought her IH, nor has she wanted any, but now her eyes are opened it may be that an OD type III will be her first piece.
Looking forward to the next leg!
