I would most likely only be wearing a t shirt and flannel or western shirt under this because I live in Arizona. I haven't soaked it yet because I'm not sure if I should try a 3XL.

Hot soak won’t take out enough. It’ll still be long in the body and arms even after it loses a cm or two.

Sized down one to my normal Iron Heart shirt size of 3XL. The fit is great. I'm pretty sure this is the last type 3 I'll ever need.

That worked out very nicely @Palmer ! In fact, the whole outfit is great.

I think it is a common error for people to compare type III measurements with shirt measurements then size up on the jacket, I know I did on my first type III.

You're not wrong!  If they ever make a longer whipcord type 3 I'll probably grab it. Sometimes I'm glad I'm tall and have a long torso because it keeps me from buying one of everything.

I can't comment on those other jackets, but if you're looking for a suit of armor that's very warm with the texture and rigidity of carpet, look no further.

Thank you @chubacca.  From what I see this particular fabric lends itself to lots of honeycomb and fade possibilities that are just stellar.  I'm aiming for a Type III that isn't just another like all the many many I have had since my first (somewheres around 1969, when I was 12.  I'm pretty sure my brother had one from about 1963, a year after its introduction as I recall.)

This jacket is ultra heavy duty and the fit is perfect for me. I would definitely recommend it. @chubacca described it perfectly but neglected to mention that your hands will be blue and tired for a while until it breaks in.

Usps dropped this off today, along with 8301S SBG. I was initially a little worried the sleeves would be a bit long but I think once the combs set in I’ll be golden. I can’t get over how soft it is for 19oz.

Great fit @Penny_pants . You’re right about the combs. I have this denim in the 666 cut and soft as it is now, it just gets better with wear and washing.
