I'd love to buy a 21oz OD or 23oz double indigo Type 1 jacket from Iron Heart in the future!!

I saw the 21oz black x beige Type 1 jacket you sampled last year (I believe) and it looks great!

I, unfortunately, got into raw denim too late and missed out on the Pronto collab 14oz OD type 1 jacket  😢

Asymmetric pockets make my brain itch.

Momotaro and SDA do this with their shirts. Not a fan of this look

I have some IH shirt with asymmetrical pockets (e.g. left breast with pen pocket on a work shirt) and have seen it on some outerwear, though I think this style of shirt is of an earlier era of work wear than IH typically patterns on. I'd be surprised to see it but it would be novel in such a heavy Wabash.

            Think it, be it.

I very much dislike those pockets, along with the other vintage worksheet details: watch pockets, cigarette pack pockets, chin tab, ventilated yokes. A little bit goes a long way. Not a fan of double elbows either but those are fairly discrete.

              I do like a pen slot…  😃

I think I'm with the majority here in saying that I prefer a symmetrical design. There are so many cool jackets and shirts out there that are, in my opinion, ruined by asymmetrical and wacky repro pocket designs. It works for other people but it's just not for me.

I actually find the pen slot on the UHFs don’t fit most modern pens. With a flapless pocket I don’t really see the point. But it is unobtrusive enough that I don’t mind it being there.

The asymmetrical pockets on Pike Bros workshirts kept me from buying and ultimately led me to IH, so I do have to thank them for that.

Agreed, they are really more like pencil pockets. They look cool, but a little more space would be great for pens of various sorts.

Same here. The slot is actually pretty useful for pencils, as non-mechanical ones don't have a clip, so it keeps them upright and accessible. Pens are easy to just clip into place. But, as you said, the slots are unobtrusive, so it's not really a big deal. Making them large enough that a Sharpie marker would fit easily would still be nice, though.

Well, that should be an easy fix. @Giles - how about slightly wider pen slots in work shirts?

A vote against any changes to the pencil slot - aesthetically it’s the perfect width imo

Not a fan of asymmetrical pockets. My thoughts are that they had a use for specific objects/products at some point in times past, but they are no longer regular use today. I don't mind the look of assym pockets, prefer sym pockets, and both should be big enough to be useful for modern items.

Not a fan of pen slots either. I can see they are useful for pencils without a clip. But the pen slot makes the rest of the pocket too small to be useful. I have a couple of work shirts from other brands that had pen slots, and I picked out the stiching.

The best detail I've seen for pens is one that Wrangler uses on their westerns - there's a slot on top of the pocket flap, so you put a pen in the pocket without having to open the flap, and when the flap is closed the pen doesn't keep it half-open.

Yeah I've worked in and around auto shops for the past 22 years and that's how most of your affordable Dickies/Red Kap/etc. basic work shirts are designed.  Single most handy as fuck design ever.  Whoever had that idea should win a Nobel peace prize.  You're grabbing for your pen 100's of times a week especially if you use hand written work orders.

I'm not sticking any pens in my UHF's pockets though so the design doesn't bother me at all.  I've had way too many pens leak on my shop work shirts over the years.  Yeah don't baby your clothes, wear the fuck out of them, they are bullet proof, etc….but I'm not ruining a 300 dollar UHF with an ink stain.
