Thanks @Aetas, well after the first two tous I can tell you it's very importand to have the right diameter at the pole tips. 😃  When I tested them at home, I used a older pole with a small diameter and it worked just fine to change the, sorry for the rest, but this is a german word, Steighilfe. Is the english word heel lifter? The pole I used on the tour has/had thicker tips and it wasen't so easy to change the Steighilfe/heel lifter and in the end the tip of one pole got broken. Performance wise I was very pleased, felt very secure and robust with lots of power. My old set up was already 10 years old and much, much heavier, had a beast of a Rahmenbindung 4 times as heavy. Considering the right pole is used the first test really surprised me in a very positive way, but the season just has started.

Many thanks for your review @marlin !

Just asked, because I consider to build up a Ski with the very tempting new Salomon S/Lab shift binding , which combines a low-tech touring pin binding with the performance of an alpine binding.

Looks indeed interesting, if the weight suits your profile/touring interest. Salomon is a great brand, I do like many of their products a lot. What are you skiing right now, what tours do have in mind?

Men, I'am so on fire regarding the upcoming ski touring season! This weekend the weather forecast is very bad, but can't wait for the next time. I know this post has no value for anyone, but had to get rid of this, sorry! Feel better now! 😃 ::)

Santa Claus came earlier this year. 😉

Since I go ski touring over the hollidays, I bought my self, finally,  a Avalanche Backpack (28L).

Today I made a small ski tour, the weather was bad, but it was a good training and a lot of fun as well.

Good luck… Been carrying one for some years now up the mountains, have been buried last year for the first time, mine didn't release. Had a lot of luck, the guide only been buried up to the knees. Found me quick with the Pieps and been able to dug me out... second birthday

God has blessed you richly, so get down on your knees and thank him. Don’t forget the less fortunate or God will personally kick your ass. I’d love to do it for him, but I can’t be everywhere. Willie Nelson

Have a couple days off and went to case some snow. The first part I spend in the Martellertal where I made the Madritschspitze (3265M) and the Plattenspitze (3422M). Yesterday evening I changed the location to the Langtaufertal, but it snows and has poor visibility, looks like a resting day.

                            A few pics…

I'am very sorry for the links, but I do not know how to post the videos directly. The links lead to my private photo website and show in the first video a nice panorama on the summit of Madrtischspitze, the second shows the brutal wind doing the accent to Plattenspitze, and the third shows the panorama with heavy wind on Plattenspitze.

Beautiful day with plenty of fresh snow to try and power through.  Ended up having to drop my pressure to 1.5 psi just to make it up the gentlest of hills.  Maybe it's finally time to swap to the winter tires!

Fantastic conditions for fatbiking today.  Glorious sunshine, temps nicely below freezing, and a beautifully packed trail.  Possible rain next week, so had to make the most of it!

It looked like this yesterday and it is still snowing and 4 degrees Fahrenheit, where it would normally be 60 this time of year:

Keystone's base is at 44". Wishing I was somewhere the snow would do me some good, and resolved to get out there this weekend!

                                          Think it, be it.
