@illo59 I remember seeing e town at the Stone Pony in New Jersey in the late 90s. It was hilarious. They pulled up in convertible jeeps with really bad gangsta rap booming. They all had one leg rolled up on the joggers. The show was insane, but they did act up the gangsta thing way to much for my tastes (me being vegan sxe back then, and listening to a LOT of Ebullition records bands haha).

That said, it's great to see some of these bands still putting records out and touring. Ah the nostalgia!  😎

@Max Power Autumn and great doom albums…a marriage made in hell haha. Agalloch were just so incredible. The name of some members new band eludes me, but they are good too.

I'm so very OCD and it feels great to have sorted my death metal cds. Death Metal isn't for everyone, and I've never been one for slam or gore death given that I'm not 13 years old! But seriously, check out some of the dark and gloomy old style bands coming out these days, they are awesome! I'll link a couple later 🤘

@Stuart.T Yeah, when The Mantle came out I was a Fanclub member of the Prophecy Label and they had it licensed. I then ordered the first records / EPs from the U.S….good times. IMO the Mantle has never been outdone by them. I recall driving through the Thuringian Forest during a Blizzard playing it - intense!

            Looking forward to your links.

By the way, MGLA will be headlining the Hell over Hammaburg Festival (already had tickets) - that will be awesome.

Haha, i can imagine that. Yeah, some of those bands went a bit too hard into tuff guy and rap. Kind of cheesy cliché and too much for me also but really good show and i guess most of the crowd felt very nostalgic, i think no one was under 30 years, what makes an old ass hardcore show. They kicked ass pretty hard though.

in terms of ebullition, i got the monster x 7" recorded on tape by a dude in the late 90ies and they blew me away. i think i still have it somewhere…. still good:

Love this weird little mysterious tune, "Wilderness" by the eminently talented Bluetech. Really good stuff for background music, I often have this kind of ambient/psychedelic trance quietly humming along across the Sonos network in my home and find it relaxing for bedtime, morning, working (though depending on caffeination levels, nature of work, and deadlines I often shift to something with more of a beat).

                Think it, be it.

Great artist, the EP 'Notion' was a regular occurrence on the IHUK Sonos system for the last 12-16 months, and first album is great too.

@spitfiredealer tell me about it, I remember buying the first single, Protect ya neck in 1992 on a US import here in the UK. Quarter of a century! to put that in context, in 1993, 25 year previous to that was 1968…the Beatles were still together. People who were alive when the Beatles were together when I was 20 were OLD! now we are OLD! haha

Back in 1997 when hip hop started to stagnate under this influences of Sean Puffy Combs at al, Company Flow blew the doors off for the indie hip hop resurgence. Everything he does is gold, and despite the major success of RTJ he keeps his creative integrity intact. What a guy.

I'm sure i've got one of the Company Flow cd's laying around, and yes, El-P definitely contributed a lot to the indie scene. This guy should be doing soundtracks  😃 I was really bummed when Def Jux folded, as there were so many great artists on the label.

This thread is on fire, thanks everyone for posting!

Come along a place, my parents allowed me to go when I was under 18, a few days ago (Still wondering about there confidence).
Just realized that this music hall Zeche is still alive.
Seeing several British, American and German independent music groups of the 80's there.
Big names I can remember: Pogues, Toy Dolls, Billy Brag, Anne Clark, New Model Army, Sisters of Mercy, King Kurt and so much more…..

But this place was also Punk, Reggae, Skaterock and Electonic!

After reading this 'The Guardian' article, some music I heard at this time, is only a footnote in musical history 😅.
Don't think about it and keep posting!

Following music is inspired from this post, linguistically (in my pronunciation) is not so far away 😆.
