Yeah I enjoy them. Some of the authors are better than others. They aren’t nearly as good as the original Clancy books. He was special. But I do like that the series lives on.

LA CASA DE PAPEL (Money Heist)…

A student robbed a classroom of fellow students wearing a Dali mask earlier today here in good ole Belgium... I read that in the news, and they said the mask was "as seen in the La Casa series"... Rates 8.7 on IMDB?.. That's a rather fantastic score... The same as DEADWOOD, actually, my personal favourite show ever...

Currently watching the second episode... I always find it slightly harder to connect with a show if I don't know what's being said, and have to rely on (English) subs... But I'm sensing that I'll be addicted to this filo de puta in no time...

Currently watching the second episode... I always find it slightly harder to connect with a show if I don't know what's being said, and have to rely on (English) subs... But I'm sensing that I'll be addicted to this filo de puta in no time...

Netflix has it with the dialog dubbed in English, if you're crafty…

That's even worse than subs… Basically that's what the French always do... I remember as a kid watching The Simpsons on some French TV station and it was dubbed...

Agreed, dubbing is fucking hopeless - particularly French dubbing.

I won't claim it's good- they're both imperfect solutions.  Dubs seem to work better when there's a lot of dialog, I think.

Oh, and I'm only about 20-30 minutes in, but Casa de Papel is solid.  Good call.

THE VIETNAM WAR and THE CIVIL WAR - both multi-ep documentaries by KEN BURNS... Titles might clue you in as to what they're about... The first one aired in 2017-2018, the latter's from 1990... World class material...
