^ looking forward to seeing that. It’s on my list for sure.

I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be an everyday watch, so I didn't want to spend more than about £400, so with the discount I think this is a bargain. I really wanted a mechanical watch too to fit with my sensibilities. I think I'll swap out the strap for a NATO band and have found some tasty looking mil-spec + versions that are on my list!

I've heard the Phenomenato straps are excellent. I usually use ToxicNatos because I like their hardware.

The seatbelt material ones are my current favorite.

@DougNg thanks for the info I'll have a look. Deluca ballistic nylon look pretty good. They get good reviews and the nylon is meant to be very robust.

're my Hamilton, I've been advised that an order was placed with Hamilton and it's being MtO…2 to 3 weeks for delivery. I didn't trust Jura, so contacted Hamilton, and yep, being MtO. It's only a £300 watch for goodness sake!

Here's an affordable quartz GMT I picked up from watches.com, one of a series of 50. I like it so far. Screw down crown, PVD, non-reflective sapphire crystal, and a lumed bezel.

I work remotely so GMT hand is set to headquarters' TZ.

Can you keep us updated on how the PVD holds up?

I have a couple guns with PVD coatings and they're holding up like shit. There have been a couple interesting watches with PVD coatings but I've been reticent on picking them up because of my experience with PVD.

I've got a PVD watch (Divas Vortex Professional) that's held up surprisingly well.  I'd provide a picture, but it's buried deep, deep in a storage unit and won't see the light of day until our house is finished, so maybe sometime next year…

Will do–the metal is stainless FWIW.

There’s lots about that design I like @Matty123. The bezel especially. It looks like it’s aged nicely too.

I’m back to looking at watches again. Because obviously I have loads of spare cash after an IH sale [emoji849]

This is currently occupying my thoughts although it’s only available in Norway in this c/w and while I like it there’s a brown leather strap with emerald face version that I may prefer…

Noob question on the noob watch thread… how off does it look if you put a 20mm strap onto a watch with 21mm lugs? Likewise would a little semi-friendly persuasion (with a small file for example) make a 22mm leather strap work ok on a 21mm lug?

Does the strap your thinking of, not come in the size you need?

The Seiko Prospex Land watch I posted a couple of days ago has 21mm lugs. If I was going to buy it, I’d like a more contrasting strap and a bit of variety and the two that spring to mind are the IH/Pinion cordovan strap in a brown (22mm) and the recently released OGL deadstock military webbing ZULU strap which comes in at 20mm. Bloody typical.
