Not sure where to put this…
Have any of you noticed that the passion for some Hobbies is diminishing and growing over years? For example I war really excited about the new classic check Releases and would have bought them in a heartbeat (probably still will), but right now I'm not as excited about them as I normally am. Though I know that stuff is gorgeous and I should be excited, damn it.
Not sure wether it has to do with the current weather, some stressful decisions that keep my attention or because I've been through it often before. Just feels weird…

My passion for hobbies definitely waxes and wanes, Flo. You're not the only one. There was a time when I was a massive collector of replica movie props, stunt weapons, and especially lightsabers–now I barely even look at that stuff.
I think we all change as time goes on. I still have nostalgia for those things, and am interested in them--but it's not at the same level.

Yep. I sometimes go through spending fatigue, so my interest in stuff goes back and forth. Also, other priorities pop up, like bills, that force me to put a hold on purchases for myself. I'm trying not to buy stuff for the sake of buying stuff and becoming a pack rat, so in that regard i've become more selective. Of course, i'm not always successful

You got married recently. That rearranges your priorities. But yeah, my interests have changed over time, too. I think it's natural. Just accept it as part of life, I guess.

I find myself in a slump as well, but I pretty much know the reason for mine. We have many huge changes coming soon, and in preparation, I'm getting focused on a few things that have fallen by the wayside for the past few years.
Still doing my best to snag a few key items that I really, REALLY want though

new priorities will most likely be the reason, but i will not let go of all so easily. We'll see what tomorrow will bring when all the classic checks drop. -
Totally agree. Over the past 3-6 months very little has really attracted my attention and I've really stopped paying attention to upcoming releases like I used to. It also doesn't help that the wife and I are saving for a house so spending has really gone down.

I also find that hobbies grow and shrink with time, circumstance, and other life demands. I think it's natural, and something to acknowledge but not feel bad about.
I had a full humidor of cigars for years while I lived in a rowhome in Baltimore with a crappy back area that I didn't want to spend 2 minutes in. I also worked most evenings and certainly couldn't smell like a cigar whilst coaching at a gym, so smoking in the middle of the day was a no-go. Sometimes I'd look at the humidor and feel a bit dejected, wondering if I'd ever enjoy them again or if it was all just a waste. However, now that I've got my nature paradise back yard, and a lawn to mow, I smoke 1-2 times per week and am running through all these old cigars. I'll often look up in my email when I actually bought the things, some are over 10 years old! It's been fun revisiting a hobby that has laid fallow for so long, and it's almost time to restock.
Luckily, hobbies don't care if you need some time away. They'll be right there waiting when it's time to pick them back up, and others will keep them warm for you in the meantime.

Just learned we will be checking out a hospital while the shirts drop today, so i guess thats new priorities. But ill try to get one nevertheless.
