It's just different and looks nice.  That's good enough for me.

Fear my t-shirts and henleys will be poping out underneath–let alone my untucked westerns.  Guess I just need to embrace the look!  If I'm lucky enough to score this beaut, that is...

I'm kinda with you on this, not particularly a huge fan of corduroy myself but they do look nice.

Agree. Part of the appeal with the ihj-69, for me at least, is that it's a modified type III and the corduroy gives it a retro feel. I also think it compliments denim very well and will be a nice alternative to the denim on denim look

Modified only means one inch of extra length (and pockets), as far as I know. Vintage trucker jackets in my size, usually a M or 38, almost always have a length between 21 and 23 inches. Iron Heart’s type IIIs seem pretty true to this. Adding one inch to that type of cut ain’t much. What I think of as short modern jackets in my wardrobe typically have a length of about 25”.

It'll be interesting to compare the length of the ihj-69 to my SExIH od modified type III, which I think is actually 1.5" longer than a standard type III. I just know that my SExIH type III sits below my belt which is how I prefer it.

The first post says it’s a modified IH-6526J - go look at the measurements of that jacket, seems a little longer in length already than the type III

This is a selling point for me, too many jackets just do not have space for a mobile phone, something most of us carry most of the time.
Most external pockets are too short so that it falls out when you bend down, happens a lot with my UHF's.
Please feel free to move to random rants  🙂
