Thanks for the reply @neph93 . Interesting that you lost the full 2 inches, from a 33.5" starting point. As I tend to wear boots predominantly now, a little extra rather than a little bit short seems to be the side to hedge my bets towards.  Nice if you can wander around the house without treading on the hem or needing to cuff, though.

        I was surprised myself tbh.

I also lost 2 inches and actually a little bit more. I found that this fabric shrinks a lot and actually didn't settle to its final measurements until the 3rd wash.

Yeah I lost 2 as well. They are also hemmed to a inch shorter than I usually take, because of the rise this worked out well.

Bonus pic to show you how great they fade.

2inches seems to be standard loss, then.  So based on my existing jeans with higher rise (1955S) being 30.4 and a tad too long, and my jeans with lower rise (Levis 541) being 30.7 and perfect, I should aim for 30.5 I guess?  Which means hemming to 32.5

My 888-NT shrank 1.5" in length, from 35.5" to 34.0", after a cold soak and five - yes 5 - washes in the first month. A couple of years ago I had a pair of 1955-UHR and they lost 2.25" after a cold soak and 1 wash. 2" shrink in length seems to be the standard. I was looking for a 33" inseam, and advised by IHUK to err on the side of more shrink and get them hemmed to 35.5".

They didn't shrink as much as I anticipated, and with higher rise they are longer than I anticipated (I wear these lower on my hips than higher at my waist, just because that's where they end up). I cuff occasionally, and usually walk around with excessive stacks. I'd rather have them too long than too short, but I really need to get them hemmed shorter.

So no restocks on these shall be forthcoming, when they are gone they’re gone? Seeing how they are out of size 32 now, I should probably move my feet on the 31 or risk missing out. Hnnnnnnggg… But what was this I heard about a black version in this cut, or have I been jeans-dreaming again?

This is good news.  I would be in for another pair if they are restocked.

No, not of the UHR material.  21oz flagship denim OD and 21oz super black denim.

If my intuition suggests tag size 32, then size 31 is probably correct, right?  😎

I’d be shooting for 32”ish waist post-shrink, post-stretch; looking at the measurements, tag size 31 which starts at 31.5” should fit the bill. I’d prefer the front rise of a size 32 pair, though; on the other hand, the slimmer leg from thigh-down on a size 31 pair is also very welcome. It would seem the raw thigh measurement of 12.5” on a size 31 pair would translate to 12+” post-wash, which would be ok.

What’s the ETA on the black versions? Was it so that they were meant to follow the sizing convention of the UHR model, give or take?

4 month update on my 888-NT, size 34. Near daily wear, with a couple of days switching to other pairs. 6 washes and a dryer cycles so far. This is the fastest fading denim I've owned. The deeper front pockets and all the other fine points are greatly appreciated. Mostly I wear them uncuffed, occasionally double cuffed.

The GF continually reminds me that these are her least favorite of all of my jeans. I don't think they look that bad. I don't think I like this cut as much as the 634 (or especially 633; I don't own a pair in any flavor). The extra rise is welcome. The hips are wide, and there's a lot of extra material in the front and rear junk area. These ride down on my hips rather than stay up at my waist, unless I cinch a belt, otherwise leads to a rather strong showing of diaper butt. Maybe I could have sized down 1 in the NT for a trimmer fit, however then I'd be concerned about them being a little too tight and restrict basic movements. I still haven't achieved my previous thigh and arse mass which would help fill these out more.  😃  These 34's are very comfy.
