How do you support your IH addiction?

After having a little chat with @Brock in the WAYWT - The Hard Labour Edition aka "Working in your workwear" thread about work I decided to have a look and see if there were any discussions about what we all do to pay the bills. I couldn't find anything so I decided to make this one. What do you do and how did you get there? Do you enjoy it or are you looking for a change? Tell us whatever you want about your job!
I'll start.
About 5 or 6 months ago I began my career as a haul truck electrician at an iron ore mine. I'm still living in the small town I grew up in which was never the plan. After high school I left as soon as I could to go to university and then college neither of which worked out. After that I moved back home with the initial goal of saving up some money and moving again. After a few months of being home I managed to get a job as a labourer at one of the mines in the area which closed down two years later leaving me unemployed. The government was offering to help effected workers by paying for them to return to school which I took advantage of to get my electrician certificate! After a couple shitty jobs I managed to get, what turned out to be, my dream job!
I love hearing stories about perseverance paying off. Nice work.

Since getting my illustrious BA in theater, of course.

I've been a server and a bartender for my whole professional life. Since getting my illustrious BA in theater, of course.
My BA in Fine Arts was much the same. Worked in restaurants for years, eventually pursing sommelier certification. Moved into retail and worked at a high end wine shop for a few years but found it less than fulfilling.
I made a change and am now a 911 call taker/emergency medical dispatcher/police dispatcher for the city I live in. Hopefully soon to be SWAT negotiator as well. -
I'm an accountant and financial analyst. Very good with numbers….. Including how to make them seem less conspicuous to the wife.
