Giles and Paula in Austin - Early November 2017
-
Sorry to hear about the car problems that the team had, Giles - it sure was moving smoothly earlier in the day. Hope they have less issues today.
A few photos to add to the collection of great content from Clint and Giles:

It should be on the 24 hour endurance site - there is a full list of teams, drivers and car specs

A few more.
Poor Porsche, she took a real beating…..
The last pic is a sign that the team we were sharing the garage with, put up after I inadvertently turned the lights to the garage off when they were replacing the front right drive shaft and suspension mid race/max panic. No one knew what had happened, me included, so assumed we had had a power cut to the garage.... Popular was not my middle name at that particular juncture....

i really appreciate these photos, thanks G. it's nice to see first hand (well in pictures) what's going on down in the pits.
there's something about endurance racing that always seems to be so brutal. and i don't mean the reliability of the engines, but the aggressiveness of the actual race and drivers. i've seen videos when chris harris did a couple of 24hrs, 1 at silverstone and the other at nurburgring i think, and once past a certain hour, the cars all end up bruised and plastered..

You would absolutely love it @louisbosco , but it is massively brutal. The most used tool is a large hammer wielded with great gusto.
There is a massive sense of camaraderie, with teams sharing parts and mechanics from one team clapping other teams when the boys have done a great job of getting (what to me looks like a destroyed) car back out on the track.
The car we shared the garage with came in 10 minutes before the end of the race and the mechanics strapped the body work back on with ratchet straps and zip ties, it went back out looking like Frankenstein, but it finished the race…..

Great pictures and story line. Good luck and safe travels to you and Paula on the continuation of your journeys.

If you guys haven't seen it The 24 Hour War is a great doc. It's about the Ford vs Ferrari rivalry at Le Mans in the 60's.

did you guys give Victor sh*t for not wearing any IH clothing? Now that I think about it, when I was on IG I've never seen him wearing IH.

@Chap I'm going to watch that when I get a chance. Thanks
Here is the trailer to The 24 Hour War

I definitely did
I don't believe he owns any IH yet, he just loves the community and is always looking for passionate people to hang out with.
