I'm ignoring the crap out of this page and the product page and sincerely hoping the next time I look all the XL's are sold out. My shirt collection has swelled dramatically recently, and I'm a vest guy ???

I agree. I have wider shoulders and shorter legs but I'd ultimately rather have a shirt fit me right in the shoulders / body than anything else.
This fabric is really cool. I may give it a soak and see how it reacts. Then I can always move on to a hot wash and a potential machine dry as necessary.

From experience, when an IH product page says "One-washed, so no (or minimal) further shrinkage to be expected" it's normally about right. I suspect the only way you'll get any meaningful shrinkage is by blasting the thing on 90C with a spin to boot. My advice would be try it on a 60C wash with a machine dry first.
