Yes. But there are products that can mitigate the issue.  Sounds funny but works GREAT!

I've found some good ol fashioned Clubman talc powder works great too.  Always loved the smell of that stuff.

I'd rather have sweaty balls. Which is probably why I live where I do. If I ever complain about the cold on here again, please remind me "at least you don't have sweaty balls".

So what do I do about this? Not really a crotch blowout and darning isn't required. The threads have deteriorated/disappeared. Not quite a blowout but definitely needs attention. Recommendations on a fix and a place to send them to would be appreciated

I'd sew that up myself, it's relatively minor.

I'd do it by hand, even though I've got machines that could handle it.  For smallish repairs like that I usually just settle onto the couch, turn on the tv to something mindless and sew until it's done.  Or until I get tired of working on it, whichever happens first.

                                Thanks @Giles

Perhaps, I should have been a bit more specific. Will wearing the UHR in a hot and humid climate (like that of India) lead to problems down there?

                                Hi Sreeni.

The UHR denim is probably Iron Heart's most dense denim. It doesn't breath well at all. I live in Norway and prefer not to wear it on our warmest summer days (about 20C). I'd recommend the 21oz denim for wear in a hot, humid climate.

And to think that anything below 25 C starts becoming cold in my city. Thanks @neph93 It does confirm that the 634-SR is not suited for my weather.

On a related note, I am guessing the 634-DD is not suited for a hot and humid climate, right?

The UHR is in a class of it's own. I have no problem with duck in warm weather but my. I don't know what the mechanics of it are but 17oz duck feels lighter than 17oz denim. Obviously it's not but there you go.

I can highly recommend the 18oz vintage denim. They are my current summer jeans and it's a great denim that is similar to the UHR in terms of fading and crunchiness.

I wore 21oz for 6 months when I lived in SE Asia and didn't have too much of an issue as it is so breathable. The 18oz is a good call or, of course, the 14oz.

@Sreeni I agree with Alex and Neph, the 18oz Vintage and 14oz are great choices for warmer weather.  The 18oz Vintage is my favorite IH denim fabric at the moment.

Thanks @Alex @manufc10 & @neph93 for your inputs. Until the 18 oz or 14 oz comes in 888 or 1955 cuts, I will have to go with the 1955s or 888s as the thighs aren't big enough for me at tag size 30.

                                        Two things -
                                        a) Iron Heart jeans last a long time.
                                        b) In my opinion, you also need to wear a pair of jeans for around a year to break it in, bring out the fades, and give it the love it needs.

Given these points, how does one justify buying any more than two pair of jeans, especially when last year's jeans are going strong?

                                          Depends on each individual…

If you're buying IH jeans BECAUSE they last long and you won't need new jeans for a long time, it would be "excessive" (And counter-intuitive) to have several pairs. I don't think too many people here fall in to that category though.

Fashion/style is a hobby for many of us here, and that alone can be the justification.
