Agreed.  That's like all my Italian friends saying the Olive Garden is better than real Italian food.

Worse; more like saying my Chinese friends think Panda Express is better than real Chinese food.

(And just for the record, Taco Bell is better than Panda Express)

You guys are really going to freak out when I tell you they tend to prefer Del Taco to Taco Bell.

Street tacos suck. Live mas, bitches.

Actually, I can get behind the del taco > taco bell thing, but really both are outlandishly inferior to real Mexican food.

This.  And Mexican is one of the few national cuisines I categorically dislike.

whoa whoa whoa..lol..I too highly question the authenticity of your Mexican friends lol 😉

Seriously I have grown up around Mexicans my whole life, went to predominantly Hispanic schools, am employed in a field that is predominantly Hispanic, and am located a relatively short drive from the Mexico border.  In my 38 years of existence I have never in my life heard a Mexican person say they prefer Taco Bell over real Mexican food.  Absolutely ludacris.

I do agree though, Del Taco over Taco Bell…that being said I still get a random craving for Taco Bell once very six months or so.  But overall I will pick real Mexican food over both the vast majority of the time.  Luckily there's real Mexican food right around the corner from my house....think I shall partake in that tonight actually.  Thanks @TrickHell for the idea, some Carne Asada sounds damn good right about now.

Mexicans who prefer Taco Bell or Del Taco might just be the equivalent of Americans who prefer KFC or Bojangles to homemade fried chicken. I expect sodium and fried fat addiction. Or maybe they're like the picky folks who can't eat anything with flavors beyond a certain sub-set, or vegetables. E.G. the adults who come into my restaurant with a plethora of choices, and have to order chicken fingers and fries off the kid's menu. They seem to have poor taste to you and me, and they'll be rewarded for their devotion to fried food by hypertension, heart disease, and obesity.

That said, I ate gorditas de chicharrón, fried quesadillas, or tacos al pastor almost every day on the street when I lived in Mexico. If we had continued to live there I would've faced the same fate.

                    But I would've died happy.

I can't really fault that- it's a hobby, like drinking beer or buying clothing from tiny companies with obsolete manufacturing techniques.  Everybody got their something…

I worked with a guy who was absolutely obsessed with health and fitness to the point where he couldn't even go hang out with us to get something to eat unless the place we were going had something that was 100% healthy.

Not at all - I'm talking about the people that swear by super foods, special waters, gojiberries, yoga; you know… They probably exercise a lot as well, but not necessarily...

I use a canvas totebag frequently when i'm out and about with my son. I keep stuff like spare clothes, snacks, sunscreen, etc., in there if we're just ducking out to a mall or playground, or use it for the library when i'm checking out books and dvd's. If we're at the zoo then i'll bring a backpack. Agree with Untucked, if it's a fashion accessory then no way but for practical use yes.

Honest question- isn't it more of a hassle to carry all that in a tote bag, instead of a backpack or messenger bag?  I like to have my hands free, especially when I'm out somewhere with the kids.
