IHSH-171-BLU - Blue Dobby Check Cotton Western Shirt
-
Cool picture here guys; very well done!
I can't believe these haven't sold out all the way yet…
the blue with a faded out pair of jeans will look EPIC -
Love Iron Heart and their products, but $310 for a five f* ounce cotton shirt is stupid. You know I love you Giles (we talked on the phone once, and referred to you as "boss" to which…..".....
A 5oz cotton shirt in a market that values heavyweight.... aah maybe there. Nope. I do not see the light

Fabric weight has little to nothing to do with the price of an article of clothing. If you don't like the cost, don't buy it.
-
When you think about it, a seamstress doesn't finish sowing a shirt quicker with a 5oz shirt than with a 12oz shirt. They both take roughly the same time to make, so should she be paid less because she's putting together a lighter weight shirt? And be paid more if it's a heavier shirt?
-
Weight is not the only factor in determining the worth of a fabric. This one has a complex weave and unique chainstitch detailing. I'm assuming that this one is selling slowly due to the short sleeve length and not the light weight.

Don't buy it then…..
In fact, it is quicker for a seamstress to make these than a 12oz denim or UHF. It is the cost of the fabric that contributes most to the end price of these, it is a complex fabric to weave and has to be done on a special "Dobby loom"
I make no apology for the price, if we could sell it for less, we would.....

Iron heart for me is the intersection of 2 things: Style (fit/genre) and Materials (ex. type of cotton/vintage mills/construction) Their marriage of art and craft is what warrants the price for me! Cheers…

@Dishelveled I've gotta say that shirt looks much better in the wild then I thought it would. It was an easy pass for me but now after seeing your fit pics I'm considering it. It looks great on you.
-
I think I would opt to pimp it with MOP snaps though.
-
Was the short sleeve length an issue for you @Dishelveled ?
-
Awesome. I'd love to see this in a single pocket work shirt. White or AL buttons.

We love this shirt but have recognised that some of you don't like the square snaps, so we are relaunching it with round Mother of Pearl snaps. We have also seen some comments about the shortness of the arms, whilst I will concede that they are not the longest armed shirts we make, if I size up to XL, from my normal L, I reckon the fit is pretty spot on. We've also reduced the price to USD285….The webpage will be updated later today...
