IH-634S-18 - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
Our classic straight-cut jeans, made using 18oz vintage selvedge denim. Reminiscent of denim from the early to mid-1900s, this fabric is woven for us at the renowned Shinya Mill, celebrated for its authentic vintage-style denim. Woven under relatively low tension, our 18oz selvedge is looser and softer than some of our more modern weaves, resulting in a pair of very breathable heavyweight jeans that require minimal break-in time. Due to the slightly more irregular weave, you can expect character-filled vertical fading that emphasises the textured nature of the denim.
"Vintage style" The gospel according to Haraki…..
'Denim has to be woven slow and low tension by old shuttle loom.
And it has to be the thickest made by this way.
I don't prefer exaggerated face with just using thick yarn. It should be normal, natural face too.
Sanforized is also very important so that we can solve the problem of sizing and consistency. Pure vintage was not my priority. And the sewing should be tough like regular IH heavy oz denim, using core span and thick thread. Again, if we stick to vintage, we would use cotton thread. But we don't do that.'

these look great, copping a pair for sure. @Giles when are they going live?
-
The 634 tomorrow late morning UK time. The 666 (which will be my next pair of daily beaters), probably Friday…...
Very nice. Are there large quantities of these or is this a fairly limited run? I'll be sleeping when these go live so I don't want to miss my chance on a pair.

Extant, sweet.
-
Praying for one (rogue) pair with thighs of 12.4'' for a waist of 30''. Maybe I could wear IH denim again….
-
oh these measurements look great!
-
@Giles I think I know you probably can't answer this question considering it's a brand new fabric that has just come in but I will ask anyways, how much stretch do you anticipate on these?
-
Given the loose weave, I imagine there could be quite some stretch on these…
