what do you guys think about something like this?

        http://hiitmax.com/

the guy has a pretty cool youtube and IG page…the videos are great and imo it's a great thing when wanting to workout at home. so no gym required as you can tell.

opinions would be great to hear! thanks.

Stay away from stuff like this…  Keep it simple...  don't jump on timed plans/diets, just figure out a way to make it a lifestyle.  Build muscle=burning fat.  Cardio=Cortisol(if you like cardio, keep it at 15 mins max and at the end of your workout).  I know I'll catch shit for that one.  Anyway, you need to lift/push weight (75-85% of your one rep max) at least 2 times a week, hitting your main movers(pecs, back, legs(glutes!), shoulders).  I dig the body weight stuff, and you can produce results using explosive movements with body weight.  Win the week...  4 of the 7 days eat clean and workout.

The expert quoted on paleo doesn't understand the diet or how ancestral peoples probably ate: ". “A true Paleo diet might be a great option: very lean, pure meats, lots of wild plants,” said one expert – quickly adding, however, that duplicating such a regimen in modern times would be difficult."

I dispute that there WAS a "true Paleo diet," and that if there was the characterization wouldn't be reduced to "very lean, pure meats, lots of wild plants," and I also dispute that his mischaracterization of an imaginary diet is a difficult regimen in modern times. It's hard to layer that much wrongness in such a small sentence.

                Think it, be it.

So, it seems like I should do something to get back in better shape. Don't know if it's being in the 30s for a while now, some stress & bad Food, but I got a small beer gut and find it harder and harder to build up or at least Keep some muscles. Worst Thing is, I used to weigh only 70 kg 5 years ago although I ate a lot and was hungry all the time. The latter hasn't changed and my mind is still set on "eat as much as you can, it's good for you" but I'm at 86 Kg now.

What would you suggest changing - I'm not set on a 180° Change or a diet, just feel like my Food & sports Routine could be a bit modified… My aim would be to lose the fat around the belly, maybe lose 1-2 kg and transform the rest into muscle. Haha.

I sympathize. You need a time machine to take you back to 25 😃 Barring that- ramp up the exercise , put the fork down, and back away from the table. It only gets worse as you age!

Since food is one of the most important regeneration-resources I would suggest you can still eat when you're already exercising, maybe slightly minimizing the most unhealthy stuff. The easiest advice is to be more active, e.g. using the stairs instead of the lift, walking and hiking a lot (what you're already into :)). A bit harder is to be more active while exercising, e.g. running and swimming serve the best as a total body workout but need a lot of time >:(.

You need to know your daily requirements and count calories.

Thanks gents, that already motivates me. Would be perfect to have a personal Trainer for a while to get the most basic knowledge - like I said, I never counted calories at all and have only done sports because of the fun of it. Guess it's time to take things a bit more serious now.

The secret to losing weight is eat less and move more.

If you want to slim down then track (and reduce) your calories and pick a sport or form of exercise you like. And remember if you want to keep it off, you're going to have to stick to these changes.

Losing 16 kg would probably take most of a year. The target tends to be 0.5 kg / week, but in practice it's slower.

                                  Good luck.

Oh, and you'll also find that weight loss has the side effect of meaning your clothes stop fitting you properly. With an IH habit this gets rather expensive. :o

I know, from bitter, personal experience!
