      Thanks pillowPANTS, that's probably right.
17 oz. might just be too heavy, but that's a very nice looking jacket…

Have you handled the 17 oz IH Cotton duck before? Just asking as I feel it feels lighter than 17 oz denim. I feel like a heavy flannel is  warmer than an (unlined) 17 oz jacket.

I'd lean towards agreeing with Max Power's post, though I've never personally handled the IH duck in jacket form. That may be changing soon after seeing this beauty.

Yeah I agree with Max; the duck feels pretty light. It's very sturdy, tight and windproof though.

I have the black duck type III (also 17oz I think) and it's really not that heavy. It feels much lighter than my 19oz lefty trucker jacket. The duck was pretty stiff at first but it softens up quickly.

I haven't handled the 17 oz duck in person, but that's good to hear that it's lighter than it sounds.
I've got the SE x IH black overdyed type III and figured it was somewhere in the same weight category.

Thanks @deanclean I feel like the tops of my engineer boots eventually pull the socks down. It's only a real issue with my rough out engineers, that rough out is hard on the shins!
