I took an unintended near 3 week detox as part of my food poisoning episode. Had killer headaches nearly the entire time caused by coffee detox. Am only back up to 2 cups a day so far. Man I've missed it in my routine and feel useless without it. Detox is not what it's cracked up to be.

Hey, that's made here in Austin! It's not too bad.
I have a quick question for the more experienced coffee fans here.
My girlfriend recently got me a Chemex 8 cup and I love it.
Except for one thing: every now and then the filter seems to burst and it really pisses me off!
I've tried doubling, even tripling the filters used and it still manages to happen.
I'm following all the brew instructions from multiple sites, and I'm following everything to a T.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Maybe I'm wetting the filters too much? -
Yup, what filter are you using? Are you stirring the grounds at all during the bloom phase? I lightly wet the filter before the grounds but I never stir.
