What is super cool is that when Yamaha do the launch video of the XTR1300 we are building, they want to include my SR500.  The current Sports heritage range (which the XTR500 is part of) traces it's roots back to bikes like the SR500.

Message from Auto Fabrica…..

_Just an update, things are going great, we have decided to rebuild the engine with a new piston so you are looking at 530cc with uprated Wiseco piston and fresh aquablasted everything with new gaskets etc.

We are getting this back by end of next week for the assembly and completion towards the end of march._

I have Yamaha coming to Goport to make a Video later on in the year.  Haraki on the XJR1300 and me on my SR, there is no way I'm going to be in that video with "L" plates stuck to the bike.  I'm not sure any of the film crew would be able to stop laughing…...

@Giles you'd be restricted to 125cc on a CBT, so riding the SR500 without a full license wouldn't be legal.

I'd look at getting going with it sooner. You need a full day for the CBT, if you don't have one yet, but the rest of the lessons can be fit in as and when.

Of course, I'm always available as a stand-in for riding at an unreasonable fee.

Decent wheels, and engine rebuilt with Wiseco 88mm pistons,  We reckon will end up at about 510cc…
