      I can't believe that.  It's cotton and used in the Military, so I am certain, you just wash it normally…

          I'm torn sizing wise. I'm 6'3", 160 pounds. Would a medium or a large be a better bet?

          I'm 6'2" 165 pounds and need a L. Last year's L was spot on, though I also find the shoulders to be a bit small. Just like those on the deck jacket - but due to ther generous arms L fit me in both jackets. I need 19" shoulders in shirts btw.

              This fabric was developed to give a longer life expectancy to pilots who had to eject into the North Atlantic in WWII.  I don't suppose they were hand washing their survival suits with Grangers Pure Liquid Soap for Ventile, between sorties.  I'm not saying that doing that is not a good idea, but like the survival suit, a field jacket is to be worn and worn hard and if you have to treat it with kid gloves, it rather defeats the purpose…

                I've washed mine (the older version that is) once, 40 C. Nothing happened and it didn't shrink at all. Will probably wash it again soonish.

                  Same. Zero issues with a regular wash and hang dry with the old model.

                      I wore my Large IHM-02 in to the office today to compare it with the new version and couldn't feel any real difference in the sizing at all TBH.

                          Just got mine today. I gave it a hot wash and tumble dry, which seems to have gotten a bit of shrinkage. It's hanging to finish drying right now.

                                Looks like a perfect fit to me, superfuzz. I think a XS would have been too small.

                                  Thanks, I washed and dried this one and it seems perfect now. I think I could've done XS if I only cold washed and air dried.

                                          Thanks @davito I look forward to lots of dog walks in this jacket!

                                          @Finn666 It's not a heavy winter jacket by any means, but with some layers it's pretty warm. Yesterday I was wearing a light thermal, IH-32, and the IHM-08 and I felt fine and it was in the high 30's (F). It seems like it will be pretty wind-resistant as well. The sateen is the nicest I've ever felt. Anyone that is on the fence about this jacket, get it! YOu won't be sorry.

                                          Only negatives about this jacket: I wish it had a loop inside so I could hang it on a hook. And now I feel like I have to buy an IHSH-105 to get the full Travis Bickle look.

                                            something i came up with just two years ago @superfuzz …had no (positive) feedback to it though -.-

                                            @Finn666:

                                            here´s just a little improvement i´d like to speak out on:

                                            what about adding a locker hook to all the future restocks and new product versions of jackets?!

                                            like seen in the pic above the it allows you to hang your jacket onto everything you want to. it´s a feature i really miss on denim jackets in particular.
                                            i really would love to hang my duck type III onto a coathook when i take it off without me always having to use a fekking hanger or that i need to throw it over the chair or something like that the whole time…

                                            would be fekking perfect if this feature would make it onto the new type III Giles has in mind - or every other jacket from now on - ... just saying 😉
