Are there any major differences to the previous Versions?

Great fit, G. I'm scared that a S would be too big for me but I'll wait for measurements to be certain.

The only significant difference is that the Sateen is a tighter weave and a touch lighter in weight.  The tighter weave makes it more wind proof and water resistant….

Oh you lucky bastards that can afford one right now. I hope to get a used L in the aftermarket.

Everyone wears their weight differently, so I think it's always best to compare IH's measurements (and measuring method) against your best-fitting apparel.

My experience with the previous model is that the shoulder measurement is critical. It was a touch snug on the IHM-02. This may have been remedied with this latest model, however.

Without giving it too much thought, my advice would be to go with a L if you have broad shoulders, and a medium if not. Again, your best bet is just to take a little extra time and measure the stuff you already have.

The IHM-02 is a great jacket, though; and I'm sure this latest model is even better.

It is possible…Ventile will be fine

I'm 6'2" 165 pounds and need a L. Last year's L was spot on, though I also find the shoulders to be a bit small. Just like those on the deck jacket - but due to ther generous arms L fit me in both jackets. I need 19" shoulders in shirts btw.

This fabric was developed to give a longer life expectancy to pilots who had to eject into the North Atlantic in WWII.  I don't suppose they were hand washing their survival suits with Grangers Pure Liquid Soap for Ventile, between sorties.  I'm not saying that doing that is not a good idea, but like the survival suit, a field jacket is to be worn and worn hard and if you have to treat it with kid gloves, it rather defeats the purpose…
