Stalking Bonefish.
I know there is a small group of Bones up in this creek. Impossible to follow them in because if a hooked fish goes into the Mangroves, then I won’t be taking that particular fly home with me. So I wait patiently here for them to come out, the tide is ebbing, so they will have to move into deeper water at some point. I have upped my tippet to 15lb and adjusted the drag on my reel to super heavy, both in an attempt to hold a hooked fish from busting me in the mangroves. Now it is a waiting game. Phillip is on the boat about 50yards behind me so as not to spook the fish.
Success. A group of 3 snuck down the left hand side of the channel and I intercepted them with a fly that imitates a small shrimp.

Blimey, that's some strong teeth!
That location looks incredible, best prepare yourself for a chilly, soggy return to the UK.

Toothy!
I've added a swivel between the lure and the hook to stop the hook rotating behind the lure. I've swapped out the treble for a single hook, as I am using a popping float to give me the weight to cast with. Because the lure is lighter than the float, when I cast the lure travels behind the float, using a single rather than a treble reduces the chance of the lure getting tangled in the line…

Great flicks G-San and nice seeing you having a wonderful break doing what you love. Those pics remind me how i badly need to go for a holiday, hopefully soon enough. Weather here in sweden is so unpredictable making you think staying in Ghana aint that bad after all.
Want to come with me next time? I'd enjoy your company….
