Just scored these Irish Setter 877 boots.  9.5d.  They are in great condition.  Hardly any sole wear.  The label and stamping dates them probably late 70's/early 80's.

Here's a pair of Bates Floaters I have on ebay. The markings on the inside are little bits of sock lint that's tangled in the pile. Otherwise these are good to go…

I'd say that is a fishing vest.  The sheepskin patch is for putting flies in for easy and quick access and change of fly, the loop on the bottom right of the vest is for resting a rod butt in when standing in water and wanting to change a fly or other such thing that requires 2 hands…

I used to have vests whose desirability was based on the number of pockets they had.  Now, if I can't get all I need in 2 shirt pockets and a small fanny pack when I am fly fishing, I'm carrying too much shit….

My first vest which was a formative piece of clothing (I mentioned it in one of the threads here about our histories and what got us into clothes) was a denim vest, insulated and lined with flannel. It had a ridiculous number of pockets. I too am in the "less is more" camp these days. Only outerwear I wear regularly with more than three pockets is the IH M65.

So do they scream geriatric, or is this classic enough that they should become go to in the spring?
