Great idea for a thread. It's too bad you didn't mention the USN in your thread title! 🙂

Yeah what's up with that?! USMC is a subset of the USN anyway.

        Think it, be it.

Not US but this is certainly militaria. My hand waxed Danish field jacket, this is the hardest break in of any garment I have owned. Looks like a stiff, shiny mess on a hanger, but molds so perfectly when I pull it on.

Am I supposed to take that as a knock on my blurry (damn neuropathy) pics? Sorry they look worse than I thought. 🙂

Best backpack I’ve ever owned… Swiss military pack! It’s super heavy-duty yet it’s pretty compact.

Found hear for a quite reasonable price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Swiss-Army-Mountain-Backpack-Military-Surplus-SL-2157-/390717884244

I have a WWII-era USN peacoat as well. It's 70 years old and looks like I bought it yesterday. Good stuff.

Have the same exact coat. That one really does look like new condition! It is a perfect fit on you too. Very nice, thanks for sharing it! 🙂

I believe it has a silk liner in it too no?

Thanks! It's hard to imagine that I'm wearing the same coat that a US Navy sailor wore in WWII. His name is still stenciled in the liner.
